MAYOR BUCHAN DECLARED mE MEETING ADJOURNED TO A <br /> STUDY SESSION FOR A PRESENTATION BY THE TOP TWO FINALISTS IN THE <br /> CITY HALL DESIGN COMPETITION (All five architectural designs and models were on <br /> display in the Main Library for three weeks prior to the all day design competition that took place <br /> on March 26, 1994. The residents and businesses of Redwood City were invited to the design <br /> competition and encouraged to ask questions and make comments. The competition was well <br /> attended.) <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 94-113 <br /> Mayor Buchan declared a recess at 7:33 P.M. <br /> Mayor Buchan reconvened the Study Session at 7:42 P.M. <br /> A. Planning Director Patterson introduced the evening's facilitator William Liskamm, who <br /> established the ground rules for the presentations and the question and answer periods. <br /> B. Presentation by James Stewart Polshek design company: <br /> Mr. David Robinson and Mr. Blake Middleton described their design for the new City Hall <br /> and the changes and improvements they made since the first round of the competition. <br /> C. Council Members and the following members of the audience received answers to their <br /> specific questions: <br /> Tamara Piulle, representing the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission asked that as many <br /> rooms as possible be multi-purpose rooms, and asked that an art gallery wall be incorporated <br /> into the design. <br /> Anita Leplin asked questions regarding the building's energy use. <br /> Ralph Nobles asked questions regarding the residential structure to be built at the corner of <br /> Middlefield and Main and Council conference rooms. <br /> Mayor Buchan declared a recess at 8:37 P.M. <br /> Mayor Buchan reconvened the Study Session at 8:46 P.M. <br /> D. Presentation by Fischer Friedman design company. <br /> Mr. Rodney Friedman, Mr. Bob Geary and Mr. Vince Lattanzio described their design for <br /> the new City Hall and the changes and improvements they made since the first round of the <br /> competition. <br /> E.
