7 | Page

1. Saw cars passing using the middle lane two times. 2. Saw two cars racing at Alameda
uphill toward lane merge
Our quality of life has decreased‐
o The parking area in front of our house has decreased so we are parking all cars
off street and therefore have asked our parents NOT to stop by unannounced for
they would park on the street up hill and get out of the car putting them at risk
of being hit. They do not move as fast.
o The noise pollution from the honking of cars trying to pass/merge going east
(toward) downtown.
o You have made it very dangerous for us to enter or exit our driveway
o The number of times I have been almost been hit by a car while walking has
increased drastically!!
I like what you have done with Farm Hill! I live on Farm Hill, one house from Glennan. I
can go in and out of my driveway without other cars honking horns and getting mad.
Traffic is much slower and that’s good.
Don’t make changes to the design in the middle of the “pilot.” Run it as is, collect
objective data, and put it to a vote.
When present crash data, you specify % reduction but also need number of crashes
before and after and say its annual on the chart and also specify traffic load (number of
cars per day)
o It’s so hard to get onto Farm Hill that I now take more risks and pull into smaller
gaps.
o You measure success by number of crashes, but you also need to measure stress
of drivers that have long term medical consequences
o You say that the bike lanes are a buffer for people getting out of their cars as if
bikes will not be there
o You measure increase in travel time on Farm Hill, but need to measure time to
get onto Farm Hill before and after.

8.A. - Page 50
