12 | Page

Add a “Slow, School Way, Watch for Kids” sign with blinking lights at Glennan and Farm
Hill intersection. If you could also add a sign under that saying “C’mon, Slow for the
Kids” that would be great.
I am 11, and I use Farm Hill every day to get to Roy Cloud. I am one of 112 kids who live
on this side of Farm Hill that go to Roy Cloud School. I must say, not many people are
running red lights, one or two time have I almost been run over compared to 5 or 6
before. I have seen only 5 bikers use Farm Hill, so I believe that we should narrow the
bike lanes. This is given from a kids’ perspective. It’s going great!
Being passed on the right in area of school of the deaf (Weingarten School across from
Dover). Lane change just beyond Alameda and Jefferson is BAD! (merge)
Restripe uphill to 2 lanes, downhill to 1 lane.
Downhill on Farm Hill after Glennan is much improved. The speed seems to be less and
cars have more area to adjust to the slight curve to the left. Can walk safer and get out
of cars
Pedestrian crossing has and remains on Jefferson (most dangerous) between Alameda
and El Camino.
o Biking is/was most dangerous on Jefferson between Alameda and El Camino
where there is no bike lane. Farm Hill restriping did not address this
o Farm Hill was dangerous during off‐peak hours, when volume was low.
Restriping does not stop people from speeding during off‐peak hours.
Cars backed up sometimes 1‐2 blocks on McGarvey feeding into Farm hill at peak traffic
AM times. IMPOSSIBLE to make left turn onto McGarvey from Fernside unless you wait
several minutes
Pedestrian crossing on Glennan and McGarvey are now a lot easier and safer
VERY difficult to make left turn, going west on Farm Hill, onto McGarvey. Maybe
averages 1 car a light at peak traffic times.
Board Title: Farm Hill Blvd Restriping Plan: McGarvey to Dover
Intersection – Farm Hill and McGarvey
Better street lighting especially at this intersection
No change necessary. This is great.
The steep hill after (west of) McGarvey slows cars down and caused backups for cars
going south (towards 280)
Add right turn lane at McGarvey. People turn right and don’t move right, blocking
eastbound traffic
(east of McGarvey on Farm Hill) I feel unsafe getting out of the driveway and getting in
(36## Farm Hill)
8.A. - Page 55
