<br /> Mayor La Berge opened the Public Hearing at 7:54 p.m. and invited anyone who <br /> wished to speak to please do so. <br /> The following people thanked th~Council for its support of the "Brown Bag <br /> Program" and described how important this program was in their lives: <br /> Rose Straccia, 239 Alexander Avenue, Redwood City <br /> Josefa Tesconi, 875 Walnut Street, Redwood City <br /> Estella Ellis, 594-4th Avenue, Redwood City <br /> Walter Winterburn, 508 San Benito, Menlo Park, described how 18 friendly <br /> volunteers assemble and distribute the Brown Bags every Friday; advised that <br /> 16 of the 18 volunteers are recipients themselves; and 92% of all the <br /> recipients are widows. <br /> Mayor La Berge asked if anyone else wished to speak. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. Designating C/CAG as Program Manager for AB 434 Funds (704-04) <br /> REPORT: City Manager, May 5, 1992 <br /> City Manager Everett described the previous approval of C/CAG membership to <br /> designate CICAG as Program Manager for AB 434 Funds (funds made available by <br /> the increase in motor vehicle registration fees) and the legal necessity of <br /> the resolution. Councilman Murray advised that this approval will have no <br /> fiscal impact on the City and will provide local control over programs to <br /> decrease air pollution. <br /> TITLE READ.
