connection over which the gathered parking occupancy data can be sent via an APi, and also for
remote management of the nBoxes.
The nBoxes will be mounted on garage walls in unobtrusive locations and connected to the
vehicle-sensing cameras by CATS cable in low-voltage conduit. All nBoxes will be powered by
connection to a 277VAC circuit wired via an appropriate conduit. The vehicle-sensing
cameras wil) be ceiling-mounted in appropriate locations over entrance/exit gates and (in
the Jefferson Garage only) over the P1/P2 up-down ramp.
For the dynamic parking occupancy signs to be located in or near both garages, Contractor will
provide the use of an industry-proven Salutaire 2'x4', high-intensity, full-color LED signs
interfaced to the Contractor cloud-based API. The dynamic signs will poll the nBox API for real-
time parking occupancy status and display the number of open spaces, or display a "FULL"
message if no parking spaces are available. Additionally, the sign adjacent to the gates of the
Jefferson Garage will show similar messages specific to the P1 and P2 levels of that garage.
The Jefferson Garage exterior sign will be 2-sided and mounted on the side of the building
directly above the PARKING arrow sign, and will draw power from that sign. The Jefferson
Garage interior sign will be 1-sided and either ceiling-hung or mounted on the pillar adjacent
to the entrance gates. The mounting location of the Broadway Garage sign on the Broadway
side will be determined at the City's discretion. The mounting location of the Broadway
Garage sign on the Marshall St. side can be either on the side of the garage above the
entrance or on a streetlight pole directly across the street. We have currently quoted one 2-
sided sign and one 1-sided sign for the Broadway garage.
The signs offer very high-quality LED images, in full-color, with a wide viewing angle of 140
degrees horizontally and vertically. The signs are dimmable from 100% to 0% brightness
manually or automatically. The signs use newer SMD technology, allowing smaller pixel pitches
to be incorporated on the biggest displays outdoors. The signs will meet the specifications set
forth in Attachment 2 below, which is incorporated herein by reference.
The signs will offer a programmable API for changing messages, to which Contractor will
provide an open API allowing the City to create your own custom messages, or for
Contractor to make such changes at the City's request.
The signs will offer several modes of communication with the Contractor nBoxes — hard-
wired CATS, WiFi, or 4G cellular. Contractor will install whichever communication mode is
most reliable and practical given each sign's location and distance from the associated
controlling nBox.
The City shall designate and arrange for mounting-ready surfaces for all signs that will not
require structural design or engineering changes, and which have access to metered power
within a reasonable distance of the sign location.
ATTY/AGR/2016.082/VIMOCTECHNOLOGIES INC
REV:04-22-16 JS
