9.0 - Page 2 <br /> • An interdepartmental team consisting of Public Works, Police Department and <br /> Community Development staff has been formed to focus on addressing <br /> neighborhood parking issues. <br /> • A Request for Proposals was issued for the ongoing management of City parking <br /> garages. <br /> Next Steps <br /> • Staff will present an updated Residential Parking Program to the Complete Streets <br /> Advisory Committee for final review, with City Council consideration projected for <br /> September 2016 <br /> • Evaluate and select a vendor to manage the City parking garages <br /> Evaluation & Monitoring <br /> The following actions have recently been taken related to the evaluation and monitoring <br /> of the City's parking supply: <br /> • Received Downtown parking data collected in August 2015 (attached) <br /> • Implemented the two-hour time restrictions on Broadway (El Camino Real to Main <br /> Street) on December 1, 2016 <br /> • Completed a commute survey of downtown employees and City staff and <br /> coordinated with Friends of Caltrain and Stanford's Urban Study students to analyze <br /> the results (excerpts attached) <br /> Next Steps <br /> • Hold Parking Advisory Committee meeting to discuss findings from the parking study <br /> and discuss parking management options <br /> • Collect parking occupancy and duration data on Broadway and Main Street to <br /> assess the impact of Broadway's two-hour time limit <br /> • If high occupancy rates persist on Broadway, consider changes to enforcement <br /> practices, pricing adjustments and/or implementation of graduated parking policies <br /> for the core downtown area <br /> • Work with City of Redwood City Human Resources staff (and potentially the <br /> Redwood City Community Improvement Association) to promote alternatives to solo <br /> driving to work for City and downtown employees <br /> Parking Supply Changes <br /> The following are recent changes to the City's parking supply: <br /> • The Crossing 900 parking garage opened for public use on nights and weekends on <br /> December 4, 2015. This added 900 spaces to the night and weekend inventory <br />
