RESOLUTION NO. 15440 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> APPROVING ASSESSMENTS FOR THE SEAPORT CENTRE MAINTENANCE <br /> DISTRICT AND REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY CONTROLLER TO <br /> LEVY THE BENEFIT ASSESSMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TAX <br /> COL�ECTOR TO COLLECT SUCH ASSESSMENTS <br /> M/S Seybert/Aguirre to approve the resolution. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. <br /> B. Levy of Benefit Assessments for Fiscal Year 2015/2016 for the <br /> Seaport Boulevard Landscape Maintenance District(507) <br /> Mr. Haya, Senior Civil Engineer, spoke briefly about the history of this item to levy an <br /> annual Benefit Assessment for the Seaport Boulevard Landscape Maintenance District <br /> of$212,500 and the need for the public hearing and election tonight. <br /> Mayor Gee opened the public hearing. There was no public comment. <br /> M/S Pierce/Gee to close the public hearing. Motion carried by unanimous roll call <br /> vote. <br /> Both ballots passed 100% in favor with no protests received. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> 1. Hold a public hearing <br /> 2. Count property owner ballots and declare election results <br /> 3. Adopt a resolution, contingent on the results of the District's property owners' <br /> election, to: <br /> a. Order the Levy of Benefit Assessments for FY 2015/2016 for the Seaport <br /> Boulevard Landscape Maintenance District in the amount of$212,500, and <br /> b. Downtown Redwood City - Community Benefit Improvement District <br /> ("CBID") — Modification of Management District Plan to Remove Certain <br /> Parcels (506) <br /> Council Member Howard recused herself due to a potential conflict of interest and left <br /> the dais. <br /> Sean Brooks, Economic Development Manager, gave a presentation on this item <br /> (presentation on file). He spoke about the establishment of the CBID, the process to <br /> remove parcels, and the public hearing process related to the modification of this <br /> district. He spoke about the benefits that have resulted from the effort to fund special <br /> benefits to the downtown.
