c. MSMs shall feature on-board diagnostics that include a full on-screen
menu or display that shows electronic error codes that enable technicianslagn05t1GS .60.
to analyze problems on-site. Pay By Plate Default
The pay station's diagnostic mode is a useful tool for determining any pay Teat St1: 0010001000
station issues and preventing potential problems in the future. The diagnostics I lD OQOOOOi1DQgygQ000
menu can be reached using the four button keypad on the pay station and
following the prompts.
d. MSMs shall allow for City's maintenance and meter shop staff to add
time without making payment and/or having the payment register as revenue in the audit information
(e.g., if a Customer's payment has to be deleted during maintenance). This usage shall be Iogged as a
distinct payment type (e.g., instead of the payment being labeled "cash" or "credit", it might be labeled
"maintenance"). The value of the payment shall be logged as $0.00.
IPS complies. The IPS maintenance card enables authorized personnel to run test transactions at the pay
station. Each test transaction will be logged in the DMS under the Maintenance Credit screen. In addition,
maintenance cards can be used to allow designated vehicles to park in pay station lots. The cards may be
configured to a certain individual (i.e., Technician ABC) and all meter maintenance credits are logged in the
management system for easy tracking. Time added to the meter with the meter maintenance card will not
affect the customer's revenue audit.
e. The proposed MSM shall have the ability to temporarily disable the recording of cash and card
(credit and smart card) totals to allow audit data test purchases by coin or card without being recorded
in the payment audit data. After this feature is invoked, the recording of any coins/cards shall be
immediately disabled to allow for testing. The test coins/cards shall not register until there has been no
activity for a set period of time provided by the City (this shall be configurable via CMS), after which
time the registering of payments is enabled automatically. Once the MSM testing is completed, the
MSM shall automatically revert back to normal operation without further operator intervention or
commands.
IPS meters provide a diagnostics capability to achieve this exactly as described by the City. Within the
diagnostics mode, no cards/coins are registered. Once exited from the diagnostics mode, coin/card audit data
and recognition automatically returns to normal.
f. The proposed MSM shall have a feature that allows maintenance staff to add a full day's time (up to
24 hours) to the MSM without adding coin or card payments. (e.g. when a new MSM is installed in a
previously unmetered area).
IPS complies. This can be completed with the use of a meter maintenance card.
g. The proposed MSM shall have the ability for maintenance staff to remotely log into the MSM to
assist in troubleshooting issues. Propose shall describe the process staff will use in order to accomplish
this.
18. Installation
a. Proposal shall include installation specifications.
Please see the detailed installation instructions following this section.
b. Each MSM shall include all materials needed for a complete deployment.
IPS complies.
REV: 05-05-1615
ATTY/AG R.2016.094/IPS Group
