Presentation of sign to the City of Redwood City by Mr. Bejan Nikpour. <br /> (101-07) <br /> Mr. Bejan Nikpour presented a beautiful, large, wood carving approximately <br /> four feet by four feet depicting a redwood tree and other symbols of Redwood <br /> City to Mayor Buchan who accepted it on behalf of the City and thanked Mr. <br /> Nikpour for being such a model citizen. <br /> MEMO 11/24/92 <br /> B. Councilman Claire described the Council of Cities meeting he attended <br /> November 20th and the controversy surrounding voting eligibility on LAFCO <br /> and the proposed annexation of county land by Belmont and San Carlos. <br /> Councilman Claire reported the motion was tabled and this annexation issue <br /> is closed. (704-05) <br /> C. Councilman Greenalch advised that any Councilmember may attend the Council <br /> of Cities and it is a fine opportunity to meet the other elected officials <br /> in the County. Councilman Greenalch also advised that other cities take <br /> positions on issues and direct their representative to vote the City's view, <br /> but that Redwood City has historically allowed the Mayor to vote his or her <br /> own view, and that perhaps the Council might discuss this situation in the <br /> future. <br /> D. Councilwoman La Berge reported on the Council of Cities Legislative <br /> Breakfast last Saturday attended by elected representatives from many boards <br /> and districts throughout the County with Assemblywoman Jackie Speier <br /> representing the state. Councilwoman La Berge advised the group identified <br /> many common interests and plans to meet again to set an agenda to present to <br /> state representatives. (704-05) <br /> E.
