<br /> 6. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. Councilman Greenalch reported that the Board of Directors of the City/ - <br /> County Association of Governments voted to amend the Joint Powers Agreement <br /> to add responsibility for the management of the state and federally mandated <br /> storm water management program, NPDES, as follows: (104-04) <br /> 1) CICAG will be the umbrella agency to administer NPDES; <br /> 2) The JPA needs to be amended; <br /> 3) The members need to receive the report; <br /> 4) It is recommended that the Flood Control District be the funding <br /> agency for one year. Redwood City's share will be $28,000 the first <br /> year, but in two to three years it will be millions; <br /> 5) How to staff this program must be decided. <br /> Councilman Greenalch advised that ultimately, each jurisdiction is <br /> responsible for compliance with all laws. <br /> MEMO 5/11/93 <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> B. Councilman Greenalch advised that the Council Committee on Substandard <br /> Streets (Councilmen Greenalch and Claire) would meet again on May 28th and <br /> to work on a policy for substandard streets. Councilman Greenalch advised <br /> that the Oakwood neighborhood substandard streets solutions are moving <br /> along, and the Committee will bring to Council a recommendation regarding <br /> Canyon Road. (302-01) <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> C. Councilwoman La Berge reported on the successful fashion show and luncheon <br /> sponsored by the Redwood City Soroptimists on May 8th to raise money for <br /> Kainos Home and Training Center and the San Mateo County Battered Women's <br /> Shelter. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> D. Councilwoman Gasparini invited everyone to attend the Council Meeting on <br /> May 11th to see the video production City staff will present to the judges <br /> at the All America City contest, sponsored by the National Civic League, in <br /> Tampa Bay, Florida on May 21st. Councilwoman Gasparini advised that the <br /> video proves Redwood City is already a winner. <br /> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 1.
