Councilman Granger moved that this be carried <br />on the agenda for two weeks, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />REPORT ON MICHEL BUILDING, MAIN STREET, CITY ATTORNEY. This was followed by a very lengthy discussion. The City <br />Attorney will make a further report next meeting. He asked that consideration be given to turning this matter <br />over to the new City Attorney when he is hired rather than have is office continue on this matter and start <br />proceedings which undoubtedly would carry on after he has resigned form the City.- If the Council deems it <br />necessary he will act on the legality of the ordinance and report back next week. This was followed by <br />discussion. Mayor Royer appointed Councilmen Granger and Hexkner to work with the City Attorney in regard to <br />checking into the hiring of a new City Attorney. Councilman '.7eiss moved to carry this on the agenda for <br />one week, seconded -by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />BUILDING AND ELECTRICAL INSPECTORS REPORT OF INSPECTION MOTEL BUILDING, 1818 El Camino Real. The Clerk read the <br />f ollowing letter: <br />"On June 2, 1955 and December 20, 1955, Mr. Nicholas Guida, owner of Hidden Court <br />Motel was informed of faulty wiring conditions existing in his buildings. <br />He was requested to have these faults corrected within a reasonable length of <br />time, but to this date has not produced any definite result. <br />In view of the lapsed time and the fact that hazardous conditions still exist, <br />we respectfully request the City Council to order abatement proceedings <br />against the building. <br />This was followed by discussion after which Councilman Granger moved that the Clerk be authorized to send <br />a letter to the property owner to inform him of what is being set forth, seconded by Councilman Stout. <br />Councilman Stout stated that if there were any other deficiencies they should be considered at this time. <br />..•. Mayor Royer stated that the Clerk could include any other matter brought to his attention. The motion <br />w carried. <br />FURTHER DISCUSSION PROPOSED F2 ERALD LAKE ANNEXATION. The City Engineer recommended that the area bounded by <br />Jefferson Avenue, Lakeview Way, Oak Knoll Drive and the present City Limits be considered for annexation. <br />This was followed by a very lengthy discussion in which they discussed the $1803000 which would be required <br />to install the supply line to take care of the whole area. Two reservoirs will be needed, a larger one at <br />Vista Drive and also at Hillcrest Drive. City Engineer Jain stated that, based on the estimates now, they <br />figure that the water service per average lot will run approximately $100 and approximately $600 per average <br />lot for sewers. These figures would not include the reservoirs no the supply lines but would be for the <br />distribution line only, and if the $180,000 was included they would have to add approximately $200 more per <br />lot► <br />Also under consideration was the possibility of forming a Utility District or possibly a joint venture with <br />OWN the County. Councilman Granger moved that, inasmuch as the subject of a joint venture with the County and <br />6",W the City was brought up and -based on the fact that this was presented to the City, a letter be written to <br />the County to get their thinking of a joint venture of this type, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />There was also discussed the matter of circulating a valid petition for annexation and what would be expected <br />of the people when they were annexed. Councilman Stout moved that the City Council indicate their interest <br />P-" <br />in the area under discussion from the green line on down (Jefferson, Lakeview, Oak Knoll Drive to City Limits) <br />and providing that the people take the necessary steps for annexation and the City Engineer prepare the <br />necessary boundary description for the Boundary Cormn:i.ssion, seconded by Councilman Herkner. This was <br />followed by discussion after which the motion carried. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1, LOT IV.
