This was placed on the agenda for two weeks, June lith. <br />Councilman Granger asked what had happened to his report in regard to painting the traffic signals yellow. The <br />Clerk's office reported that this was being followed through, however, Councilman Granger at the time did <br />not ask for a report back and he had offered his suggestion for "what it was worth". City Engineer Jain <br />stated that they couldn't do anything to the signals on the -highway as they belonged to the S+ate. Council- <br />man Granger stated that he wanted the City's signals painted then. Report back in two weeks, June lith. <br />Councilman Spillers asked to place on the agenda the matter of ,appointing a new man on the Planning Commission. <br />This was placed on the agenda for one week, May 28th. <br />Claims 19311 to 19384, totaling $89,622'.21, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by <br />Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned to May 28th, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and <br />carried. M. <br />INVOCATION was lead by Reverend Ronald H. Whitey Pastor First Methodist Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, Hiram S. Stout, <br />Louis Weiss, Mayor William H. Hoyer and City -Clerk pro -tem John J. Brophy. Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi <br />and Robert V. Spillers were noted absent. Also present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, City Attorney <br />C. B. Currie, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Building Inspector S. H. <br />Kreiss, Assistant Water Superintendent Warren Mitchell, Assistant to The City Manager L. A. Kimball, Fire <br />Marshal George Asvos, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Acting Police Chief Theodore Moudakas, Recreation Director <br />Alfred Morton, Chamber of Commerce representative Al Oneto, Planning Commissioner James Mac Donald and <br />row Account -Clerk Vivian Holmquist. <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCE, REQUEST FOR HEARDING OF DALE STUART ON REFERENCE TO REZONING MATTER REFERRED BACK TO THE <br />PLANNING COMMISSION, ROBERT DELL'ERGO. The Clerk reported that the Planning Commission was going to hold a <br />public hearing on this subject on June 12th. Mr. Robert Dell'rgo, representing Mr. Dale Stuart, asked the <br />Council to reverse their action and allow a building permit to be issued. There are 39,000 square feet <br />in Mr. Stuart's property. Mr. Dell'Ergo spoke at some length in regard to the tearing down of part of the <br />6M old rental unit and moving of the building, financing of the <br />project and why his client was going to build <br />30 units instead of the original 18 as first discussed. Also under discussion was the fact that the people <br />in the area were aware of the facts at least two weeks and possibly one month before they circulated the <br />petition and the fact that they did not tell Mr. Stuart of their plans before he eompleted making his <br />financial arrangements. There was a very lengthy discussion with Mrs. Vernon Roberts, 1631 Union Avenue, <br />Mr. Irwin, Mr. E. M. Elwood of 1610 Union Avenue and a gentlemen from 1661 Union Avenue speaking against <br />
