The Mayor stated that this was not a matter for the Real Estate Committee because <br />they did not need an appraisal for this property. Councilman Spillers withdrew his motion and then <br />moved that the City Manager take the necessary action and fol -low the matter through, seconded by <br />..w <br />Councilman Britschgi and carried. The Commission requests that because of the adjacent location of the new <br />Veterans' Memorial Building and Park Department Headquarters, some consideration be given to allowing <br />the Park Department some use of the telephone and secretarial facilities available in said Memorial <br />Building. Some such system could assconsiderably to the efficiency to the administration of the Park <br />Department, at little or no additional cost to the City. Councilman Granger moved that this be re- <br />ferred to the Memorial Commission for their recommendation, seconded by Councilman Spillers. City <br />Manager Rolison stated that this was new to him. The employee who is working out at the T4emorial. <br />Building is working part time for the City and part time for the Memorial Building. It appeara that <br />this is a. personnel problem wherein frill use of the employee could be made. Councilman Granger with- mad <br />drew his motion and moved^that this be referred to the City Tanager for candling, seconded by Council- <br />man Herkner and carried. <br />PARK AND RECREATION C0:;M4ISSTON REQUEST USE OF PORTION OF VETER-M\T'S BUILDING AT IT777S PARK FOP, RECREATION <br />FACILITES IF AND '-IIiEN TTiE .8UILDI 1_: IS RENOVATED. This is to request that at such time as the <br />Veterans' Building at Mezes Park is renovated and put back into use, that some portion of the use <br />of said building be devoted to Recreation, as there is considarable need for additional facilities in <br />that part of the City. Councilman Britschgi mo-ved that this matter be held on the agenda until such <br />time as the building is renovated, seconded by CounciLnan Spillers. Councilman Stout stated that he <br />and Councilman Granger have been working as a committee on +.his project. The motion carried. Council- <br />man Stout stated that he had con',acted one of the members of the Yout'� Committee and both he and <br />Councilman Granr�cx will check with some of thF� other members.
