She wanted to know if this was for the entire sidewalk or just a portion of it.
The street was repaired approximately two or three years ago and Mr. Carolla, at that time, saw pieces
of heavy equipment raise the sidewalk and they feel that perhaps this had something to do with the
condition of the sidewalk because there had never been anything wrong with it up to that time. Mpg,
Carolla stated that this whole thing came to a head when someone fell in front of 322 Chestnut Street
and sued the City. The
Clerk read a letter submitted by Mr. Harrison wherein they asked for the abandonment of the above
easement which is not being used by either the Pacific Gas and Electric Company or Pacific Telephone
Company. Mr. Harrison wants to construct a car port in the rear of his property. The letter stated
that they want to build two feet from the side property line and five feet from the back property as
it would make it a eorved drive and come too close to the corner of the dwelling. By being able to
have 3 feet of the 5,foot easement, it would give them a dir.direct straight drive to the car port from
the front of the property,
Mr. Harrison told the Council that the P. G. & E. were going to check this matter tomorrow. He further
stated that there is another easement on his property.
