r -ow <br />L <br />10 <br />-0 <br />i <br />2,5a <br />Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2083 ESTABLISHING STOP SIGNS IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS and moved its <br />adoption, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried an roll call. <br />The Stop signs were established in the following locations& <br />(a) Madison Avenue and St. Francis Street Intersection - one (1) stop sign on <br />St. Francis Street at the southeast corner of its intersection with Madison Avenue. <br />(b) Nevada Street and Madison Avenue Intersection -one (1) stop sign on Nevada Street <br />at the southeast corner of its intersection with Madison Avenue. <br />(c) Hamilton Street and Marshall Street Intersection - one (1) stop sign each on <br />Hamilton Street at each of its intersections with Marshall Street <br />(d) Bradford Street and Hamilton Street Intersection - (1) stop sign each on <br />Bradford Street at each of its intersections with Hamilton Street. <br />(e) Marshall Street and Winslow Street Intersection - one (1) stop sign each on <br />Marshall Street at each of its intersections with Winslow Street. <br />(f) Winslow Street and Bradford Street Intersection - one (1) stop sign each on <br />Winslow Street at each of its intersections with Bradford Street. <br />(g) Bradford Street and Allerton Street Intersection - one (1) stop sign each on <br />Allerton Street at each of its intersections with Bradford Street. <br />2. Stop signs existing on Bradord Street at its intersections with Winslow Street are hereby <br />directed to be removed. <br />FURTHER. CONSIDERATION PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION TO GRANT VARIANCE TO J: F. KUFFER TO ALLONf EXTENSION OF <br />C -1-H XONE THROUGH PROPERTY NON DIVIDED BY A ZONE LINE SUBJECT TO LIMIT OR R-3 USE. Len Greenwold stated <br />that the Planning Commission approved the subdivision with the condition that the Council approve the variance, <br />The extension of the zone is purely a mechanical device. The variance would limit them to a R-3 use. <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the Punning Commission's recommendation and offered RESOLUTION <br />2084 FOR THE NECESSARY VARIANCE FOR THE ABOVE MENIONED PROPERTY and moved its adoption, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi. This was followed by discussion after which the motion carried on roll call with <br />Councilman Weiss voting NO. <br />INTRODUCTION CF ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONE NO. 2 IN C -1-H AREA NEAR OAK KNOLL DRIVE AND CANYON ROAD was <br />made by Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />REQUEST FOR DANCE PERMIT, BENEFIT FAMILY OF RUSS TRUCKEY, SEPTEMBER 15th AT CARPENTERS HALL. Councilman <br />Spillers moved that this be held on the agenda for one week to give the man a chance to meet with the <br />Police Department, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. After discussion, Councilman Spillers changed his <br />motion that the permit be granted subject to the approval of the Police Department and other interested <br />Department Heads, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE <br />stop signs on Linden Street at its interesection with Hazel Street, <br />on Lathrop Street at its intersection with Beech Street, on Cypress Street at its intersection with <br />Center Street and on Alameda de las Pulgas at its intersection with Edgewood Road. Councilman Stout moved <br />that the City Attorney prepare the necessary resolution, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />MRS. THIRKELL, SECRETARY GLENWOOD AVENUE IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION, REGARDING PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS. The Clerk <br />stated that the letter was in answer to the leter written by the City Clerk on behalf of the Council. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that this letter be made a part of the minutes. Councilman Britschgi asked that <br />this be placed on the agenda for the first meeting in October. This was included in the motion which <br />Councilman Britschgi seconded. The motion carried. <br />This letter is to let you know we are in receipt of your letter August b, 1956. <br />In view of the fact many of our people in this area are vacationing it has been impossible <br />to start a petition for improvements until they return, since their absence leaves us <br />less than a majority at this time. <br />Please inform the City Council we have not forgotten that we wish to do our share <br />improving our community and shall do so at the earliest possible date. <br />Very truly yours, <br />Margory I.
