55
At the last meeting of the Council, approval was given to the proposal of Mr. Riff to
annex a portion of property adjacent to the reservoir at the end of Brewster Avenue and
adjacent to Upland Road in the City of'Redwood City.
At that time no indication was given as to the matter of fees which have been charged in
the past for these individual small lot annexations. In the past, the City has had
somewhat of a standard policy of charging $150.00 for these annexations as the fair
value of the improvements attributable to the property being annexed, which amount
then just covered the costs incurred by the City in earrying through the legal proceed-
ings for annexation.
Since that time costs of annexation have increased and before we proceed with the
ern annexation,it will be necessary, so that the applicant will be informed, that we know
the amount which the Council will establish as being attributable to this property.
It should be borne in mind that the actual out-of-pocket expense to the City in
annexing this parcel of land will be in excess of $300.00.
We should appreciate receiving your determination so that we can advise the applicant
for annexation as to what amount he will be expected to pay.
Very truly yours,
Chester W. Lebsack
The City Attorney reported that he told Mr. Riff that he would be charged $$300 for annexation fee.
