RM <br />ballots and if so would they take action not later than January 30th. Councilman Spillers will bring in a <br />report at the next Council meeting. <br />The Clerk read a letter from the City Manager wherein he asked the Council for confirmation of their original <br />action authorizing his office to enter into a formal contract for engineering services for the Kentfield- <br />Palm-Valota & Vicinity Improvement District at a total estimated cost of approximately $152000, money to be <br />advanced from the General Fund. Councilman Spillers moved authorization as requested by the City Manager <br />in his letter, seconded by -Councilman Jones and carried. <br />Mayor Herkner asked that they have an architectural report on the Veterans Memorial Building by next meeting. <br />Mayor Herkner announced that on February 1st there would be a study meeting on annexation charges and Redwood <br />Creek bridges. <br />Poo <br />LCouncilman Britschgi moved that the meeting be adjournedt seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Adjournment, 11:12 P. Lemmex, Grace Bible Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, Paul Jones, <br />William H. Royer,.Robert V. Spillers, Hiram S. Stout, Mayor Sidney D. Herkner and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. <br />Also present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, City Attorney C. B. Currie, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, <br />Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Police Chief William Faulstich, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Building Inspector <br />S. H. Kreiss, Police Captain Theodore Moudakas, Street Maintenance Superintendent Doyle Chester, Account - <br />Clerk Vivian Holmquist and Park & Recreation Commissioner Wm. Hanley. <br />Girl Scout Troup #196 were present to watch the proceedings of the Council. <br />The Minutes of January 16th and January 23rd were approved as mailed on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded <br />by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />The Oath of Office was administered to Harold E. Kren to serve on the Personnel Board. <br />GASOLINE BIDS, AWARDING CONTRACT. Councilman Spillers moved <br />acceptance of the City Manager's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />�... REPORT BY THE CITY ENGINEER AND CITY MANAGER REGARDING PROPOSED FOOT BRIDGE REAR SILVA BAR AND RESTAURANT. <br />how The City Manager was of the opinion that this structure should be provided with a suitable loading space <br />so as to accommodate other places of business in this area, even at the expense of eliminating a limited <br />number of parking spaces in the City parking lot through which all vehicles desiring to deliver merchandise <br />must enter. This should be approved by the Traffic Fact Finding Committee, and since a portion of this <br />structure will be located on City property, it should be constructed to the satisfaction of the City <br />Engineer and the City should be protected from public liability damages as the result of its use. <br />
