L� <br />ter... <br />authrity to act and speak f or the City at the meeting on Tuesday in San Francisco in regard to Rapid Transit. <br />Councilman Granger moved the Councilman Weiss be made chairman of the Rapid Transit Committee, seconded by <br />Councilman Herkner. This was followed by more discussion. The Mayor asked the City Manager to attend the <br />meeting along with Councilman Weiss. The motion carried. <br />Councilman Weiss stated that he received a letter tonight from the City of Valleto in regard to the Rapid Transit <br />in which they presented a resplutipn for consideration.. The City Attorney was asked to check this and <br />report back next week. <br />Claims 20776 through 20918, totaling $1082027.23, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded <br />by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner moved that the meeting be adjourned to November 26, at 8:00 P. M., seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried. Meeting adjourned at 12:00 A.M. <br />.R. Fast, Free Methodist Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. <br />Herkner, Robert V. Spillers, Hiram S. Stout, Louis Weiss, Mayor Royer and City Clerk Ralph S. Dodge. Also <br />present were City Manager E. A. "olison, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, <br />Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Assistant Water Superintendent Warren Mitchell, Recreation Director Alfred <br />Morton, Assistant to 0ity Manager L. A. Kimball.* Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Police Chief William <br />Faulstich, Police Captain Theodore Moudakas, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi* City Assessor John J. Brophy, Street <br />Superintendent Doyle Chester and Planning Commissioner Carl Sjoberg. <br />COURTESY AWARD CF THE WEEK was presented to Mrs. Thomas Johnson by Robert Parsons representing the Junior <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - WEED ABATEMENT, 1956-57• There were no protests, written or oral. Hearing was declared closed <br />on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. RESOLUTION N0. 2145 <br />ordering Street Superintendent to abate weed nuisance was offered by Councilman Spillers who moved adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried on roll call.
