This was followed by discussion <br />of possibly acquiring or having donated a 10' strip and abandoning the rest of the plan lines. Chief <br />Faulstich stated that this would have no effect on the signals, 101 was not engough and the signals <br />would still be left where they are when the three phase signals are installed. Councilman Granger <br />asked that consideration be given to purchasing the 101 <br />strip. <br />After further discussion and with the <br />..,� <br />conset of Mr. Joseph Leonard, Councilman Granger moved <br />to carry <br />this on the agenda for one week in order <br />to give full consideration to the problems presented tonight with the understanding that a final decision <br />will be reached at that meetin, seconded by Councilman Jones. City Engineer Jain stated that the P.G.&E. <br />and the Telephone Comanies will have to be contacted in regard to whether or not they can change their <br />poles to fit the 101 change if that is the final decision of the Council. Motion carried. <br />After discussion Councilman Royer moved that a letter be written to the State asking them to make their <br />recommendation regarding the three phase signal in writing by next Monday, seconded by Councilman <br />Granger. Councilman Jones stated that he was not in full agreement with the Traffic signals as opposed <br />to property acquisition. This was followed by discussion 9ter whichthe motion carried. <br />CITY MANAGER REPORT ON BLEACHER COVERING AND SOFTBALL FIELD LIGHTS. The City Manager made an oral report. <br />Unit A, as shown on the plans, was originally estmated at $10,500 for common lumber. For $10,800 the <br />City could get ship -lap siding. <br />Units A and B complete would cost $14,500 with common lumber and with ship -lap $144900. Councilman <br />Jones raised the question of how much money the City received from the sale of Hawes Park. $34000 <br />less the price of the Ketch-Hetchy property or approximately $29,000 was the amount received. The <br />lighting will cost approximately $7,099 for material only. Estimate for installation was $2,500 or a <br />total cost of lighting $9,600. Plans and specifications will have to be made, more than likely by an 04 <br />outside firm. Now <br />To sumorize his report the City Manager stated that the lights would cost about $100000 and $159000 for <br />the construction of the bleachers. Councilman Royer stated that the Council originally thought the <br />cost of the lighting would cost $15,000. By compromising on the bleachers and.taking the $10,800 <br />figure and $10,000 for the lights the work can be done for the amount originally figured or $209000. <br />Unit A will form the wind break. This was followed by discussion in regard to what the money is being <br />spent on. Councilman Royer moved to accept Unit A and also authorize the installation of the lights, <br />the total job to be approximate],y $203,000, seconded by Councilman Spillers. City Manager Rolison stated <br />that the City Auditor had placed the money received from the sale of Hawes Park in the Unbudgeted <br />Reserve Account and this money will have to be transferred. Motion carried on roll call with Councilmen <br />Britschgi and Stout being noted absent. <br />Councilman Granger wanted to know why the money was placed in the Unbudgeted Reserve Account. City an% <br />Auditor Brophy stated that under the Charter he had to place this money in the General Fund and he put it UAW <br />in the Unbudgeted Reserve until such time as a fund is set up. He also stated that according to <br />Uhlenburg and Company this money can not be set up as a Capital Fund. Councilman Granger offered <br />RESOLUTION 1992 TRANSFERRING $28,650 FROM UNBUDGETED RESERVE AND SETTING UP A FUND (Community Park Fund) <br />and moved its adoptio0, seconded by Councilman Jones. This was followed by discussion as to where the <br />money would be set up and what the fund would be called, also how much money would be transferred. """o <br />Councilman Granger stated that he did not care where it was set up as long as it was set up as a special <br />fund for recreation facilities. City Attorney Currie suggested that they call it Community Park Fund. <br />The Council agreed to transfer all the money. Motion carried on roll call, Councilmen Britschgi and Jones <br />being noted absent. <br />CHIEF OF POLICE REPORT ON PIN -BALL MACHINES. THE Clerk read the following report: <br />
