Unless a solution is obtained, the result �ri.11 be that in the entire length of San Mateo County only Crystal Springs Boad through the City of San Ad�teo will rem,ain open for truck traffic Plaa�ring east and west. In the absence of cooperative action betxeen the cities, there is a g�ood chance that the Sfi.ate Legislature r�ill restrict the operation of truck route ordinances. ftecammendations Yaur cmmn.ittee reco�ranends that sub�ect to the acceptance of this proposal by t he ounty an t e cities of San Carlo$� Belmont� San Mateo� and �Poodside� tlzis Citsy cooperate under the terms of �he proposal of the Engineering and Grading Cantractors Association with the understanding that cammercia� quarries in the County be sub3ect to the permit system proposed� and that a system of � limited truck rautes and permits be established in the City similar to the existing system in the City � • of San Mateo. � It is also reco�nended that this co�ittee+s repar�t and the attached proposal be revia�►ed by the Traffic Safety Committee and a recommendation be obtained from that committe� for submissian to the City Council , Councilman Weiss moved that the report be accepted and the Committee cor.nnend.ed for their report and ' refer the letter to the Traffic Conmmittee for their recomraendgtion;� the Covncil to reeeive a copy of the report� seconded by Councilman Stout xho added that they receive a copy of the permit system aut- lined by the City of San �ateo. The chief in his report said that this matter was referred to the Red�rood City Chamber af Coirnaerce for clearance as required by aur preser�t ordinanee. Ha►ever� he has been advised that the Charaber of '', Commerae �rould like more time bef ore making recommendations in regards t o changing the ordinance.
