95 <br /> He was only thinking about getting further sources of funds. <br /> Councilman Stout moved to carry this on the agen da for one week, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried <br /> on roll call, Councilman Spillers and Mayor Royer voting N0. <br /> PENINSULA CELEBRATION ASSOCIATION request continuation of policy of the Council looking with disfavor on any <br /> activity that would interfere with the success of the 4th of July Celebration Association to the Elk Lodge <br /> Au" asking them to change the date of their circus so it will not interfer with the 4th of July Celebration. <br /> Thib was followed by discussion. Councilman Granger stated that he hoped that the Elks and the Peninsula <br /> Celebration Association could get together and settle this matter and come to some sort of an agreement. <br /> He felt that the Association should be congratulated for the work. <br /> Councilman Spillers moved to give a vote of confidence to the P. C. A. on their program. Councilman Weiss <br /> pow <br /> seconded the motion. This was followed by discussion in regard to w hether or not the Elks had applied for <br /> a Permit to hold the circus. Councilman Stout was of the opinion that the Council should go on record and <br /> ask the Elks if they could possibly change their date for the circus and ask them to hold their event 30 or <br /> 60 days ahead of schedule. This was followed by discussion after which the motion carried. <br /> Planning Commissioner Greenwold asked the Council to notify the Planning Commission officially of this <br /> action so they won't go -against the Council's wishes and grant a use permit to the Elks for the wrong <br /> dates. The Mayor stated that they would be given a copy or the minutes with this item circled in red. <br /> RESOLUTION 2181 APPROVING A CHANGE IN THE FREEWAY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY DATED FEBRUARY I , 1955, AS SET FORTH IN LETTER FROM DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS DATED JANUARY 18, <br /> 1957 was offered by Councilman Spillers who moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Stout. City Engineer <br /> Jain outlined the situation to the Council and explained the reason for the resolution. The motion carried <br /> on roll call. <br /> r"" RESOLUTION 2182 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE APPLICATION WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FOR AN <br /> ADVANCE OF FUNDS TO PROVIDE .FOR THE PLANNING OF PUBLIC WORKS UNDER THE TERMS OF PBULIC LAW 560, 83rd <br /> CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES, AS AMENDED was offered by Councilman Spillers and seconded by Councilman <br /> Granger. The City Engineer recommended adoption of this resolution and this was concurred in by the City <br /> Manager. Councilman Weiss wanted to know the amount of money they were asking for and what the money is to <br /> be used for. Mr. Jain said they were asking for $40,000 for advances for the Sewage Plant expansion plan. <br /> The motion carried on roll call. <br /> The City Engineer outlined the process used between the City and the State in regard to exchange of property <br /> and work being done on the Freeway. The City Manager stated that any money received from this exchange. <br /> should be credited to the Departments ..to which the property belongs. Councilman Spillers offered <br /> RESOLUTION 2183 AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED PARCELS OF CITY OWNED REAL PROPERTY <br /> TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE STATE <br /> ,.,, OF CALIFORNIA PROVIDING ,FOR SAID SALE AND CONVEYANCE and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weiss <br /> and carried on roll call. <br /> RESOLUTION 2181 SIGNIFYING CITY'S DESIRE TO ACQUIRE COUNTY TAX DELINGQUENT LOTS (FOR CREEK ALLIGNMENT) AT A LATER <br /> DATE was foffered by Councilman Spillers who moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Stout. The City <br /> Engineer and the City Manager recommended the adoption of the resolution. The County Tax Collector <br /> [ww: submitted a list of tax delinquent property which they requested the City to indicate which property the <br /> City was interested in so they wouldn't offer same for sale. The motion carried on roll call. <br /> Councilman Spillers offered introduction of ordinance increeasing taxi rates, seconded by Councilman Weymouth <br /> and carried. <br /> Councilman Spillers offered ORDINANCE 600.76 REZONING PORTION OF LOT "D", MAP 2, WOOSTER, WHITTON AND <br /> MONTGOMERY, FROM R-!t DISTRICT TO C-1-H F DISTRICT and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weymouth <br /> and carried on roll call with Councilman Weiss voting NO. <br />
