2 <br /> CONSIDERATION OF CHANAGE ORDER, CITY ATTORNEY. The City Attorney presented the necessary resolution. <br /> Councilman Weiss offered RESOLUTION 2185 APPROVING CHANGE ORDER IN CONNECTION WITH CONSTRUCTION OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY POLICE STATION and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll <br /> call. <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDED START OF STULSAFT PARK PLANS. The Clerk read the letter <br /> - wherein the Commission requested that the City Engineer's office be given the necessary authority to ""11, <br /> prepare or obtain the plans and specifications for phase #1 of the Stulsaft Master Plan submitted to ••+ <br /> p4 <br /> - your body. <br /> The City Manager reported that he had been advised that the sum of $9,597.66 was available in the <br /> Stulsaft Park Fund. He was also advised by the City Attorney that an ordinance appropraiting funds <br /> must be approved by the City Council before aur expenditures can be made from this source. The City <br /> Engineer estimates that the cost of preparing plans and specification will amount to about $2,000. <br /> Councilman Spillers wanted to know whate the first phase was. City Engineer Jain stated that it <br /> was on the south side of the crek facing Goodwin. The plans require mostly field work and that is <br /> why the expense is so high for engineering costs. Councilman Spillers moved that the City Manager be <br /> authorized to draw up the plans and specs and authorized the drawing up of the ordinance transferring <br /> the money, $9,597.66. This motion lost for lack of a second. <br /> I!iCouncilman Spillers moved that the City Attorney be authorized to draw up the necessary ordinance to <br /> transfer the $9,597.66, seconded by Councilman Weiss and (carried. <br /> Councilman Granger asked that the minutes show his thinking on this matter, to go only as far as the <br /> , <br /> money will go. <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDS THAT THE RATES AT THE COMMUNITY PARK POOL BE RAISED TO BE IN <br /> mai <br /> LINE WITH THOSE OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS. The Clerk read the letter. Councilman Spillers moved that <br /> the recommendation be approved, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br /> REQUEST PERMISSION TO USE EASTER BOWL FOR CAMP FIRE GIRLS EVENING OF MAY 28th. The Clerk read the letter. <br /> Councilman Granger moved that the request be granted, .seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> RED CROSS REQUEST PERMISSION TO DISPLAY POSTERS, THERMOMETER FRONT OF THE CITY HALL ANDS TENCIL SIDEWALK <br /> CORNERS. Councilman Weymouth moved approval of the request, seconded by Councilman Weiss. Councilman <br /> Granger asked that the Red Cross be asked to use a little less lead in their paint so it will wear off <br /> quicker. The motion carried. <br /> COUNTY OF SAN MATEO LETTER OF COMMENDATION FOR MEMBERS OF FIRE DEPARTMENT IN ASSISTING IN CLEANUP AFTER <br /> BROKEN WATER LINE, HALL OF JUSTICE, was read by the City Clerk. Councilman Spillers moved that the letter <br /> be filed and a copy be sent to the proper department, second by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> ACME MACHINE CO., INC., REQUEST ABANSONMENT AND RETURN OF STREET EASEMENT. The City Engineer and City <br /> Attorney recommended that this letter bereferred to the Planning Commission. Councilman Stout so <br /> moved, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> The City Attorney stated that he had the resolution prepared that the Council asked for in regard to <br /> the bill proposed by Assemblyman Britschgi. Councilman Stout offered RESOLUTION 2186 REQUESTING AND <br /> RECOMMENDING STATE LEGISLATURE TO ENACT LEGISLAT' ON ESTABLISHING SPRUCE STREET IN THE CITY OF <br /> • <br /> REDWOOD CITY, OR A REASONABLE PARALLET, ALTERNATIVE ROUTE, AS A STATE HIGHWAY TO PROVIDE CONNECTION <br /> ..ri <br /> BETWEEN BAYS ORE FREEWAY AND STATE HIGHWAY ROUTES 1, 5, 2 and 107 and moved its adoption, seconded <br /> by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call. <br /> Councilman Granger spoke about Palo Alto and stated that the evidently had found some way to oonsider <br /> Middlefield Road as a State highway or an arterial. He was of the opinion that maybe there was some <br /> way that the Council could find out what procedure Palo Alto followed and then notify the County <br />
