L1r > <br /> USE PERMITS GRANTED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION: <br /> 1. To H. G. Sweet, to allow 6111 amateur radio antenna tower at Ito Garden Street. <br /> 2. J. Soloman, to allow sales and installation of auto parts at 75 El Camino Real. <br /> 3. to T. E. Davis, to allow auto repair at 858 Jefferson Avenue. <br /> The above mention use permits did not require any,Council action. <br /> PERSONAL APPEARANCE, MR. ALEXANDER KENNEDY spoke for himself and his neighbors and reported that they are <br /> having drainage trouble caused by a new subdivision being developed on Eaton Avenue. The subdivision <br /> is in the County, however, all the mud and silt is washing down in front of their comes and causing <br /> drainage problems. The Mayor asked the City Engineer to check with the County Engineer to see if <br /> there was anything the County could do and if necessary offer the City's help in conjunction with <br /> that of the County to clear up this matter. <br /> w.rr <br /> Mr. Kennedy stated that he would like to circulate a petition for improvements if someone would give <br /> hime a copy of the type of petition that should be circulated. Mr. Kennedy stated that he did not <br /> know how soon he would be able to return the petition. The City Attorney was asked to prepare a <br /> preliminary petition for street improvements and mailed it to Mr. Kennedy. <br /> Councilman Granger moved that this be referred to the City Manager, he in turn to contact the Board <br /> of Supervisiors and the County Engineer, if it is a short cut, and cover this situation in as much <br /> as it is a City—County problem, and also the City Attorney to prepare and send out a petition to Mr. <br /> Kennedy, seconded by Councilman Stout. Mr. Jain stated that the City should not go on record-that <br /> they will keep the pipes clean. The City does not approve of these types of culverts. The motion <br /> carried. <br /> Mr. Kingsley, 456 Eaton Avenue, asked the City to fix the driveway in.front of his home because he <br /> has had trouble ever since the City dug up the street to put in a sewer line. Mr. Vallenti, 446 <br /> Eaton Avenue, has been having trouble where the City dug up the street to put in a water main. The <br /> City Engineer was asked to check into this matter. <br /> Claims 21853 through 21960, totaling $45,133.73, were ordered-paid on motion of Councilman Spillers, <br /> seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br /> Councilman Granger moved that the proper authorities be authorized to replace the two flags in the Council <br /> Chambers, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br /> Councilman Weiss stated that some time ago they received a report from the City Manager in regard to <br /> apportionment of gas tax money to Cities and Counties. He was of the opinion that this should be <br /> set for a study meeting. The Mayor said that he would set this for a study meeting later. There <br /> will be nay study meetings this week. <br /> Councilman Weiss asked for a report from the City Manager in regard to the grade crossing protection of <br /> Jefferson and Maple Streets. The City Manager stated that he could make his report now rather than _ <br /> wait one week. He stated that he wrote a letter to the Public Utilities Commission and they sent <br /> mow <br /> hime a list of the dates indicating the installation of crossing gates. The Southern Pacific Company <br /> called up before that time and requested the information to assist them in checking their records. <br /> This info has been forwarded as requested. The Mayor asked the City Manager to follow up on this <br /> matter. <br /> ..r <br /> CLAIM FOR DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURIES, CAROLYN JONES, 3521 Hoover Street. Councilman Spillers moved <br /> the claim be denied and referred to the insurance carrier, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned to March 11th at the hour of 8:00 P.
