Building Inspector Kreiss stated <br /> mod <br /> that awing to the condition and the width of the property and the length of the cul-de-sac the Planning <br /> Commission could not approve the R-2 zoning for this subdivision. Mr. Whitehead had agreed to build <br /> single family hoarse at the tins the sudivision was submitted to the Planning Commission. The City <br /> Attorney briefed the Council on previous action taken in regard to this subdivision. He further stated <br /> that the gentleman agreed on his own initiative to build single family dwellings. This was approved <br /> by the.Planning Commission and since that time Mr. Whitehead has been trying to chage the zoning <br /> of the property. Mr. Whitehead sopoke on the subject and stated that the rise in cost of building <br /> will not allow him to secure the kind of financing he needs to proceed. <br /> Councilman Weiss moved that this matter be taken under advisement at a study meeting, seconded by <br /> Councilman Herkner and carried. <br /> REAPPOINTMENT OF IRVING GOLD TO MEMBERSHIP ON THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION. Councilman Weymouth <br /> moved to refer this item to the City Attorney for proper action, seconded by Councilman-Spillery and <br /> carried. <br /> TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION REGARDING REMOVAL OF STOP SIGN AT 'G( STREET INTERSECTION W ITH INDUSTRIAL <br /> WAY. The Committee finds that the stop sign on Industrial Way at 'G' Street breaks the flow of <br /> traffic sufficiently to allow the ingress and egress to and from this industrial area. The Committee <br /> recommenda that the stop sign be retained at its present location until the Bayshore Freeway is <br /> completed and a signal,is installed at the intersection of Whipple Avenue and Industrial Way. He has been advised by Mr. Spangler <br /> mot <br /> that the property owners have raised $650 and they expect another $100 for a total of $750 to under- <br /> write the survey. Councilman Herkner moved that the City Manager be authorized to go ahead with the <br /> survey at a cost of $750, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br /> Councilman Spillers asked about the sidewalk notice of Jessie Smith, 20 El Camino Real. After some <br /> discussion, Councilman Stout moved to refer this matter to the City Engineer, seconded by Councilman <br /> Spillers and carried. <br />
