453 <br /> Councilman Stout moved that the letter be filed and the Department Heads take cognizance of the facts, <br /> seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br /> ADOPT ORDINANCE PROHIBITING DOGS IN PARKS, ALSO PROHIBITING SALE OF FOWL AND ANIMALS IN PUBLIC PLACES. The <br /> Clerk read the title of the ordinance. Councilman Spillers offered ORDINANCE 855 PROHIBITING ANY PERSON <br /> HAVING CUSTODY OR CONTROL OF ANY DOG TO PERMIT SUCH DOG TO BE IN ANY PUBLIC PARK AND DECLARING ANY DOG <br /> IN A PUBLIC PARK A PUBLIC NUISANCE: AND BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 7. 2 PROHIBITING THE DISTRIBUTION OF <br /> FOWL AND OTHER ANIMALS ON THE STREETS OR PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY and moved its adoption, seconded by <br /> Councilman Weymouth. Alfred Morton spoke on the subject of the dogs being brought to the park by people <br /> in cars. They are not complaining about the dogs running loose. Mr. Tornell spoke on the matter and <br /> recommended approval of the amendment to the dog ordinance. There was one letter protesting the amendment <br /> to the ordinance from Margaret C. Miller. This was followed by discussion. The City Attorney stated that <br /> � rre <br /> he had been informed by the S. P. C. A. that this ordinance would be hard to enforee. This was followed <br /> by discussion as to the way this ordinance could be enforced. The motion carried on roll call with <br /> Councilman Granger voting NO. <br /> L. C. THATCHER REQUEST CLOSE OUT SALE OF NURSERY STOCK, 32 LUCERNE STREET. The proper applications and deposit <br /> had been turned in. Councilman Stout moved approval of the permit subject to the conditions of the ordinance, <br /> seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> LETTER, ATTORNEY LEBSACK REGARDING PETITION FOR RE—HEARING, MC CAMMON VS. REDWOOD CITY TRUCK ROUTES. Councilman <br /> Stout moved that this matter be referred to study meeting Wednesday evening, April 24th, seconded by <br /> Councilman Weiss and carried. <br /> TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED 4—WAY STOP AT VALOTA ROAD AND REDWOOD AVENUE. The Clerk=ead the title of the <br /> resolution. Councilman Stout offered RESOLUTION 2224 ESTABLISHING AND DECLARING THE INTERSECTION OF <br /> VALOTA ROAD AND REDWOOD AVENUE TO BE A FOUR—WAY STOP INTERSECTION AND MOVED ITS ADOPTION, seconded by <br /> Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. <br /> Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2225 APPROVING AND ACCEPTING FINAL MAP VALOTA MANOR SUBDIVISION SUBJECT <br /> TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS AND APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF <br /> IMPROVEMENTS FOR SAID SUBDIVISION and moved its approval, seconded by Councilman Herkner. The conditions <br /> were recommended by the Planning Commission. The motion carried on roll call. <br /> The Mayor called attention to the study meetings and noted a correction. The study meeting would be on <br /> Wednesday, April 24th instead of Thursday. <br /> Councilman Spillers brought up the matter of Spruce Street. He said 'that Mr. Dolwig did not receive a copy of <br /> the resolution. The Clerk was asked to check the records and make sure the resolution was sent to <br /> Sacramento. <br /> Councilman Weiss brought up the matter of the abandonment of plan lines on El Camino Real and Whipple. He <br /> rpm <br /> stated that plans are being made to build on the corner property and he was of the opinion that the Council <br /> should take this matter under consideration before the work begins. This was followed by discussion. <br /> Councilman Spillers wanted to know what has happended to the Streets and Highway Master Plan. Councilman <br /> Spillers moved to have the City Manager check the matter of the Streets and Highway Master plan and report <br /> back at the next Council meeting, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br /> rimm Councilman Weiss read the following prepared 16.0 Mr. Mayor and Gentlemen: I have here before me notes on some 75, more or less items that <br /> have been b rought before this council at stated meetings for action or consideration. . Approximately <br /> 35 or more of them,are now over three months old and have not as yet been resolved, nor have <br /> progress reports been submitted recently to keep us abreast of their current status. <br /> As an example — On January 14, Councilman Granger called for action on the sign ordinance, <br /> at my- suggestion his motion included that if the merchants committee failed to submit further <br /> report, the council should proceed with consideration of the ordinance at an early February <br /> meeting. It is now April and we have done nothing or hear any further reprots on the subject. <br />
