Norman Peterson, Inc., Berkeley 11048,500.00 <br />McGuire & Hester, Oakland 1,100,651.00 <br />The Duncanson -Harrelson Co., Richmond 1sl49,663.19 <br />Engineer's estimate 1,166,800.00 <br />There is no council action necessary at this time on the awarding of the contract on the above <br />mentioned bid opening. <br />6W Councilman Herkner moved to introduce an ordinance to provide for incurring a bonded indebtedness by <br />the City of Redwood City in the sum of $976,000 for the acquisition, construction and completion of <br />_the following municipal improvements, to wit: Sanitary Sewage Disposal System improvements,• providing <br />for the issuance of said bonds in series; prescribing the date and form of Series A bonds of said <br />authorized issue and of the coupons to be attached thereto; prescribing the maturities of said bonds; <br />authorizing the execution of said bonds and coupons; and providing for the levying of a tax for the <br />payment of the principal of and interest on said bonds, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />CONSIDERATION OF INCREASE IN Sfffl . RENTAL RATES. Councilman Weiss moved that Sewer Rental rates, <br />effective January 1, 1959, be set. at $1.00 per month in accordance with the recommendation of the <br />City Auditor and City Manager, seconded by Councilman Rosselli. After some discussions the maker of <br />the motion added that all the other rates be adjusted by the same percentage as the inside rate and <br />instructed the City Attorney to prepare the necessary ordinance. The motion carried on roll call with <br />Councilmen Spillers and Weymouth being noted absent. <br />BELMONT COUNTY WATER DISTRICT REQUESTS A TEN FOOT EASEMENT FOR PURPOSES CF LAYING AND MAINTAINING A 20f <br />DIAMETER SUPPLY LINE TO FEED THE DISTRICT FROM SAN FRANCISCOIS MAINS IN THE HETCH-HETCHY RIGHT -CF -WAY <br />(SEQUOIA RESERVOIR PROPERTY). Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0, 2552 GRANTING <br />REVOCABLE PERMISSION FOR USE OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED CITY PROPERTY TO BELMONT COUNTY WATER DISTRICT, sec- <br />onded by Councilman Weiss and carried on roll call., Councilmen Spillers and Weymouth being noted absent. <br />Mayor Royer asked to be excused for 5 minutes to answer the phone, 9:52 p.m. Councilman Weiss moved <br />that Councilman Herkner act as Mayor pro -tem, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />APPEAL FROM BOARD (F ADJUSTMENT OF PLANNING COMMISSION DENYING VARIANCE APPLICATION OF GEORGE PAPADAKIS, <br />LOT 15., BLOCK 133 RCBINS CN AND EAGLE HILL ADDITION (446 Jackson Street). Councilman Weiss moved to <br />set this matter for public hearing on October ]lith, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Mayor Royer returned to the meeting at 964 p• m. <br />COMiA"UNICATIONS: The State Highway Engineer has found that our Ordiance No. 908, regulating outdoor adver- <br />tising,, to satisfactorily conform to the policy in respect to expenditure of funds for landscaping <br />metropolitan freeways established by the Director of Public Workst order of 1951. The adoption of <br />the ordinate has made it possible to landscape the freeway in Redwood City when funds become available. <br />• Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2553 APPROVING THE ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM, CLINTON STREET <br />CULVERT, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call, Councilmen Spillers and Weymouth <br />being noted absent. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of a resolution authorizing and directing Mayor and City Manager to ex-- <br />ecute agreement with Sequoia Hospital District for water and sewerage service agreement, secondhd by <br />Councilman Granger. After some discussion, Councilman Granger withdrew his second and then Councilman <br />Rosselli withdrew his motion. <br />
