After discussion, Councilman Spillers moved that the public <br />hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. Councilman Rosselli moved to uphold <br />the recommendation of the Planning Commission and deny the rezoning and indicate to the Planning Com- <br />mission that if application comes in for one lot (FRITZ and adjoining property owner) that the appli- <br />cation fee be waived, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON ORDINANCE NO. 372 REGULATING BUSINESS HOURS AND CONDUCT OF BARBER SHOPS. Harry Miller, <br />representing the barbers, presented a petition to the Council with signatures of 34 journeymen and <br />apprentice barbers requesting that the ordinance be kept as is. Councilman Granger moved that the <br />matter be laid on the table. Councilman Granger withdrew his motion, and Councilman Rosselli mored <br />that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved to lay the matter on the table, seconded by Councilman Rosselli. After some <br />discussion, Councilman Granger included in his motion that the matter be tabled for 30 days and re- <br />ferred it to the City Manager to meet with the barbers to see if they could work out some solution. <br />This was followed by further discussion and the possibility of changing the motion in 60 days. Coun- <br />mom cilman Granger withdrew his motion with the consent of the second and then moved that the matter be <br />tabled, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried an roll call with Councilmen Granger, Rosselli, <br />Spillers and Weymouth voting yes, Councilmen Herkner and Weiss and Mayor Royer voting no. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 912 TO PROVIDE FOR INCURRING A BONDED INDEBTEDNESS BY THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY IN THE SUM OF $976,000 FOR THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF THE <br />FOLLOWING MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS, TO WITS SANITARY SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS: PROVIDING FOR <br />THE ISSUANCE OF SAID BONDS IN SERIES; PRESCRIBING THE DATE AND FORM CF SERIES A BONDS OF SAID AUTRORIZED <br />ISSUE AND OF THE COUPONS TO BE ATTACHED THERETO; PRESCRIBING THE MATURITIES CF SAID SERIES A BONDS; <br />FIXING THE MAXIMUM RATE CF INTEREST ON SAID BONDS; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF SAID BONDS AND COUPONS; <br />AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVYING OF A TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE PRINCIPAL OF AND INTEREST ON SAID BONDS, <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried unanimously on roll call. The affidavit of publication was <br />ordered filed. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO 2559 AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING SALE OF $826,000 CF <br />.+ THE $976,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND ISSUE FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO SEWAGE TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL FACILITIES, <br />seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of ORDINANCE N0. 913 APPROPRIATING $4,000 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED SURPLUS OF <br />THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTION OF WALL AND EQUIPMENT SHELTER, FIRE STATION, <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF SUCH SUM FOR SUCH PURPOSE <br />, seconded by Councilman Spillers and car- <br />ried unanimously on roll. call.• The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />CONTINUATION (F PLANNING COMMISSI.ON'S RECOBENDATION ON ROBERT S. do ELIZABETH C.
