After some discussion, the City Manager <br />was asked that they try to coordinate these campaigns so they do not conflict with the United Crusade <br />campaign. The motion carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved that the Disabled Veterans be allowed to sell for -get -me -nuts next creek and <br />referred the matter to the City Manager, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />CLAIM FOR DAMAGES, JOHN THOMAS ALBURGER. Councilman Spillers moved to deny the m1aim and referred same <br />to the insurance carrier, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />CLAIM FOR DAMAGES, ROBERT E. GRIGGS. Councilman Weiss moved that the claim be denied and referred to <br />the insurance carrier, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner commended Carl Houtchens for his reporting of Council meetings and moved adoption of <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2583 CO)WNDING CARL HOUTCHENS, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried unanimously <br />on roll call. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO 2584 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING ASSIGNMENT OF TIE; RIGHTS <br />OF PISANO BROTHERS, INC., UNDER CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF REMOD CITY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SUPPLY AND <br />DRAIN LINES, SEQUOIA RESERVOIR PROJECT, TO AMERICAN TRUST COMPANY SUBJECT TO STATED OONDITION, seconded <br />by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously an roll call. <br />Councilman Granger moved that Councilman Weiss be granted permission to leave the State for three to five <br />weeks, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Claims 27278 through 27433s totaling $1430989.64, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Spillers, sec- <br />onded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned to Monday, November 10th, at the hour of 8:00 p.m.s <br />seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. M. <br />Invocation was led by City Clerk R. S. Dodge. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, John S. <br />Rosselli, Louis Weiss, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H. Rayer and City C lark R. S. Dodge., Councilman <br />Robert V. Spillers was noted absent. Also present were City Manager J. E. Neal, City Engineer Glenn <br />M. Jain, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Police Chief William <br />Faulstich, Planning Director Dick Wilkinson, Assistant Planning Director Leonard Knittel, Assistant <br />Building Inspector B. C. Gyselbrecht, Park and Recreation Commissioner Alyn Beals and Deputy City Clerk <br />Vivian Holmquist. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PETITION OF R. D. SIFFORD TO AMEND SECTIONS 4.4 4.29 4.3 AND 44 OF ORDINANCE N0. 600 <br />to rezone from R-1 to C -N or C -1-H, Lots 3, 4 and 6, in Block 9p Kensington Square, located on the <br />southerly most corner of Jefferson Avenue and Alameda de las Pulgas. The affidavit of notice was order- <br />ed filed. There being no written communications* After discussion, both for and againsts Councilman <br />Rosselli moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />
