130 <br />Minutes of the Regular Adjourned Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />February 3, 1958, 8:00 P.M. <br />City Clerk Dodge asked for nominations for acting raayor for the night. Councilman Spillers moved that Council- <br />man Granger be elected Mayor pro -tem for the night, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />Invocation was lead by Reverend <br />David <br />Romeis, <br />Messiah Lutheran Church. <br />01 <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were <br />noted <br />present: <br />Councilmen Sidney D. Herkner, Robert V. Spillers,.Hiram S. Stout, <br />WJ <br />Louis Weiss,.Ray Weymouth, Mayor pro -tem Floyd D. Granger and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Mayor William H: <br />Royer was noted absent. Also present were City. Manager E. A. Rolison, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, <br />City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Police Chief William Faulstich, Assistant to the City Manager L. A. Kimball, <br />Building Inspector S.. H. Kreiss, Planning Director William Rodgers, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Water Superin- <br />tendent H. L. Winter, Assis tant Water Superintendent Warren Mitchell and Senior Stenographer Clerk Vivian <br />Holmquist. <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the minutes of January 21st and 27th as mailed, seconded by Councilman <br />Herkner and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON PROTEST OF USE PERMIT GRANTED J. E. FARRAR (Industrial Way and Whipple !avenue). Councilman <br />Stout moved that this matter be continued until 9 o'clock, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />CITY MANAGER ON COLLECTION OF GARDEN TRIIWINGS SERVICE. The Clerk read the report from the City Manager. <br />Councilman Weiss moved that the report be accepted and the Council to take the matter under advisement <br />and hold a study meeting within the next 30 or L5 days. This motion lost for lack of a second. Council- <br />man Weiss moved that the City Manager's report be accepted and the Council to be furnished a copy of the <br />report, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON ABANDONMENT OF WALKWAYS ADJACENT TO TRIANGULAR PARK. Councilman Spillers moved to � <br />t <br />authorize the City Attorney to prepare the necessary ordinance, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried* <br />Councilman Spillers offered ORDINANCE 883 AMENDING SUBSECTION (a), SECTION 1, ORDINANCE NO 863, BEING THE <br />ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FCR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1957 -JUNE 30, 19589 <br />TO PROVIDE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF $750 FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND <br />TO GENERAL GOVERNMENT FOR MISCELLANEOUS EXPENDITURES; AND AMENDING SIMSECTION (h), SECTION 1, CF SAID <br />ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR TRANSFER OF $3,723.29 FROM SALARIES APPROPRIATION TO SUPPLIES AND SERVICES <br />APPROPRIATION, DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried <br />on roll call, Mayor Royer being noted absent. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />Councilman Weymouth offered ORDINANCE 884 AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF TAX DELINQUENT PROPERTY FROM THE STATE CF <br />CALIFORNIA; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT THEREFOR; AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE PAYMENT THERE- <br />OF and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried on roll call, Mayor Royer being noted <br />absent. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />Councilman Herkner offered ORDI14ANCE 885 AMENDING SECTION 2.54 OF CRDINANCE NO. 824.9 BEING THE SALARY PLAN FOR <br />EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO INCREASE THE SALARY RANGE OF MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT FROM RANGE <br />42 TO RANGE 44 and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman. Stout and carried on roll call, Mayor Royer <br />being noted absent. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />INTRODUCTION CF ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS, MARINE HARBOR. Councilman Herkner moved that this <br />matter be carried on the a Benda for one week and referred the matter to the City Managers seconded by Counc- <br />ilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers offered introduction of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 600 to rezone area on south side <br />of Marshall Street between Maple and 6hestnut streets from C -3 -F to C-3iF-H District, seconded by Councilman <br />Stout. After discussion Councilman Spillers withdrew his motion and then moved to send this back to the <br />Planning Commission for a revaluation, seconded by Councilman Stout. Councilman Spillers changed his motion <br />to carry this on the agenda for one week, in the meantime the Council will hold a study meeting Wednesday <br />
