It was <br />noted that at the present timethere is a resolution in effect setting minimum street requirements. <br />Councilman Weiss moved that this matter be taken under advisement and a study meeting be held with the <br />people of Glenwood Avenue to discuss this matter, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON PROTEST OF USE PERMIT GRANTED J. E. FARRAR. The notice of mailing was ordered filed. The <br />letters of protest were noted. Elmer Kauk, 334 A Street, Art Lauffenburger, 342 A Street, and Dennis <br />Woodman, representing Harry Weiner, spoke against the granting of the use permit. John E. Farrar and <br />Arnold Rukens, representative of the General Petroleum Corporation, spoke in favor of the use permit. <br />Councilman Spillers moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved that the use permit be granted on recommendation of the Planning Commission, <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers. The motion lost on roll call with Councilmen Spillers and Weymouth <br />voting Yes, Councilmen Herkner, Stout, Weiss and Mayor pro -tem Granger voting No, and Mayor Royer being <br />noted absent. <br />Councilman Weiss moved to overrule the Planning Commission and deny the granting of the use permit, sec- <br />onded by Councilman Stout. Councilman <br />Weymouth moved approval of the request, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING ABANDONING OF CIRCLE PARK. C airicilman Herkner suggested abandoning the property as <br />a park only, not sell the property. Councilman Spillers moved that they abandon the property as a <br />park. The motion lost for lack of a second. Councilman Spillers moved to refer the matter to the Real <br />Estate Committee for an appraisal of the property, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING PROPOSED SIGN ORDINANCE ON FREEWAY.
