uc��S <br />Councilman Rosselli moved approval of the minutes of November 3rd and November 10th as mailed, seconded by Council- <br />man Herkner and carried. <br />BID OPENING, BEECH STREET IMPROVEMENTS. The Engineer's estimate is $10,077.75. The following bids were received: <br />Douglass & Woodhouse $12,486.75 <br />Oscar C. Holmes 12,539.50 <br />Bragato Paving Co. 13,877.00 <br />C. J. Wood, Inc. 17,878.10 <br />Freeman Paving Co. 200181.25 <br />The bids were referred to the City Engineer for checking and a report back later in the evening. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON BEECH STREET IMPROV 1ENTS (between Southern Pacific railroad and Stambaugh Street). The affi- <br />davits of publication of resolution of intention, mailing and posting notices of improvements, publication <br />and notice inviting bids were ordered filed. There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Weymouth <br />moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. The Mayor announced <br />that there had been an error made in the Engineering Department with regard to the estimated figures sent <br />out to the property owners. Some of the amo mts would have to be raised approximately $60 and others low- <br />ered <br />ow <br />ered by the same amount. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2588 ORDERING WORK AND OVER RULING PROTESTS, BEECH <br />STREET IMPROVEMENTS, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call, Councilmen Spillers and <br />Weiss being noted absent. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON ANNEXATION OF 6.768 ACRES KNOWN AS "COONAN ANNEXATION" located at the vouthwesterly°termination <br />of Goodwin Avenue between the School site and Stulsaft Park. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />There were no written protests. After some discussion, Councilman Rosselli moved that the public hearing be <br />closed, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 2589 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FINDING <br />AND DETERMINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED <br />TERRITORY DESIGNATED "COONAN ANNEXATION" HAS NOT BEEN MADE BY 09VNERS OF ONE-HAIF OF THE VALUE CF SUCH TERRI- <br />TORY AS SHOKN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT ROLL, NCR BY PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ONNERS EQUAL TO ONE-HAIF OF <br />THE VALUE OF SUCH TERRITORY AS DETERMINED BY SAID COUNCIL,, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on <br />roll call, Councilmen Spillers and Weiss being noted absent. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved introduction of an ordinance bf the City of Redwood City approving the annexation <br />to the City of Redwood City of certain uninhabited territory designatdd "Coonan Annexation" and herein des- <br />cribed, and herein annexing said territory to said City of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Herkner and <br />carried. <br />The City Manager was asked to hold a Staff meeting to discuss the matter of annexation fees with Mr. Currie. <br />THE CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT ON THE BID OPENING, B EECH STREET IMPROVMENTS. The City Engineer reported that the low <br />bidder was Douglass and Woodhouse, however, there was an error in typing in the written figures with the <br />correct amount extended. Councilman Rosselli moved to waive arty clerical error in the low bid, seconded by <br />Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2590 AWARDING CONTRACT, BEECH STREET IMPROVEMENTS <br />(Douglass & Woodhouse), seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call, Councilmen Spillers and <br />Weiss being noted absent. <br />Councilman Granger moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 914 APPROPRIATING $2,500 FROM THE UNBUDGETED, UNAPPROPRIATED <br />BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND TO THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT CAPITAL OUTLAY FUND, AND $125 FROM SAID UNBUDGETED, <br />UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND TO THE PARK DEPARTMENT CAPITAL OUTLAY FUND FCR THE PURPOSE OF <br />ACQUIRING MOTOR VEHICLES, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call, Councilmen Spillers and <br />Weiss being noted absent. <br />0 <br />0 <br />"n <br />i <br />0 <br />
