246 <br />APPOINTMENT TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION. Councilman Granger stated that they had several applicants in mind but <br />he moved to nominate Robert Youmans 1525 Maddux Drive, to fill the term left by the resignation of Carl <br />Tiedemann, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. <br />Councilman Granger moved that the City Attorney prepare a resolution appointing Mr. Youman to the Planning <br />Commission of the City of Redwood City to fill the unexpired term of Carl Tiedemann, seconded by Council- <br />man Spillers and carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Claim for alleged damages to Margaret De Gracia and John De Gracia. Councilman Spillers moved that the <br />claim be denied and referred to the City insurance carrier, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />D. ZELINSKY & SONS final payment on painting the City Hall and Library. The Building Inspector recom- <br />mended payment on the balance due on the contract. Councilman Spillers moved to accept the painting job <br />and the final payment be made, seconded bar Councilman Weiss. Councilman Granger asked that a letter of <br />thanks be sent to Mr. Zelinsky. The motion carried. <br />D. ZELINSKY regarding extra cost and increase in cost over what they bid due to the fact that they had <br />to plaster the City Hall. The Mayor asked that the City Manager write a letter to D. Zelinsky & Sons <br />and explain that the City would not pay the extra money over the bid price. <br />WOODSIDE PLAZA MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION extended their thanks to the agencies of the City for their very <br />fine cooperation on making the landing of Santa Claus by helicopter on November 29th an outstanding <br />success. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. Kreiss, Planning Commissioner Carl Sjoberg, Assist- <br />ant Planning Director Leonard Knittel. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the minutes of December 1 and December 8, 1958, be approved as mailed, seconded <br />by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION THAT SECTIONS 4. 1, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4 of Ord- <br />inance No. 600, the Zoning Plan, be amended to rezone portions of Lots 18, 19 and 20, Johnson Subdivision, <br />from its present designation of "U" (Unclassified) District to an R-1 District. The affidavit of notice <br />was ordered filed. There being no protests written or oral, Councilman Spillers moved that the public <br />hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried.
