134 <br />FURTHER CONSIDERATION, PROPOSED ORDINANCE REZONING MARSHALL STREET BETWEEN MAPLE AND CHESTNUT FROM C -3-F TO <br />C -3 -F -H. Councilman Herkner offered introduction of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 600 to rezone <br />area on south side of 11Iarshall Street between Maple and Chestnut Streets from C -3 -F to C-3 F -H District <br />and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner offered ORDINANCE 886 AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED PROPERTY ADJACENT TO <br />INDUSTRIAL WAY FOR STREET PURPOSES, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED CITY <br />PROPERTY THEREFOR and :Moved its adoption, seconded by- CouncilTia.n Weymouth and carried on roll call, Council- <br />man Spillers being noted absent. Affd.davit of publication was ozrlere.d filed, <br />Councilman Weymouth offered ORDINANCE 887 AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND <br />APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried <br />on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />CITY MANAGER RECOMMENDATION ON REVISED PERSONNEL RULES. Councilman Granger moved to accept the revised report <br />of the City Manager and approve whatever action is necessary to put them into effect, seconded by Council- <br />man Stout and carried on rol-I call, Counci1nan Weiss voting No and Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />SIDEWALK COMMITTEE RECOIMM AMENDMENT TO SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO.. 639., Councilman Granger offered intro- <br />duction of the ordinance, seconded by Councilman Weymouth. After some discussicm, Councilman Granger with- <br />drew his motion. Councilrran Herkner offered. the introduction of the ordinance changing the time limit to <br />21 days instead of the present 30 days, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />CITY ENGINEER RECOMMENDATION REGARDING DISBURSEMENT OF SUBDIVISION DEPOSITS WITHIN KENTFIELD-PALM-VALOTA DRAINAGE <br />AREA. Councilman Stout moved to refer the letter to the City Attorney for the proper resolution, seconded <br />by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />FURTHER DISCUSSION CITY ATTORNEY OPINION ON RECORDING OF COUNCIL MINUTES. (Councilman Weiss). Councilman Weiss "AR <br />moved that the matter be taken from t1n table and that the City .Attorney's opinion and recommendation be ""94 <br />accepted and they also take it under advisement. This motion lost for lack of a second. <br />Councilman Herkner moved to accept the Attorney's report pertaining to the minutes, seconded by Councilman <br />Weiss and carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />FURTHER DISCUSSION ON SEQUOIA HOSPITAL SEWER RENTALS (Minutes 2-3-58). The Mayor reported that they had their <br />meeting with the Sequoia Hospital representative. The Committee feels that all the bills should be paid up <br />to date; however, they did give consideration to a possible change in the rates to be charged which if ap- <br />proved would require an amendment to the ordinance. This was just a progress report. <br />Councilman Granger offered RESOLUTION 2388 ADOPTING BUDGET AND APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR EXPENDITURE <br />OF GAS TAX ALLOCATION FOR MAJOR CITY STREETS and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Herkner and <br />carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />Councilman ffeymouth offered RESOLUTION 2389 AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF QUIT CLAIM DEED RELEASING RESTRICTIONS <br />FROM CERTAIN DESCRIBED PROPERTY and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried on roll <br />call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />LETTER OF COMMENDATION TO THE BUILDING INSPECTOR,. THE ASSESSOR AND THE PLANNING COMMISSION FROM GEORGE C. CAMERON, <br />395 Casino Way, Sharp Park, was read by the Clerk. No Council action was necessary. <br />LETTER FROM CALIFORNIA SOCIETY, AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF PARK EXECUTIVES, RALPH SHAW, PRESIDENT. Councilman Herkner <br />moved that the Clerk be reaues ted to reply to the letter, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDED POSTING NOTICE, "NO DOGS ALLONED", IN STAFFORD PARK. The City Manager <br />was instructed by the Mayor to see that the sign was posted. <br />PARK AND RECREATION C CHMISSION RECOMMEND A NAME BE SELECTED FOR THE PARK AT SECOND AVENUE AND BROADWAY. Council- <br />man <br />Stout moved that the <br />Friendly Acres <br />Improvement <br />Club and any other citizen in the area submit a name <br />for <br />the park to the Park <br />and Recreation <br />Commission, <br />seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />
