141 CITY ENGINEER REQUEST APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECS AND ADVERTISING FOR BIDS, IMPROVEMENTS ON ALAMEDA b.6ivirAii MASSACHUSETTS AND FERNSIDE. Councilman Granger offered RESOLUTION 2103 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF MAJOR CITY STREET, PROJECT NO. 73, ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS (MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE TO FERNSIDE STREET) IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CON— STRUCTION THEREOF, and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. CITY ENGINEER LETTER REGARDING ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY FOR WIDENING JEFFERSON AVENUE ntivvgAi4 EL CAMINO REAL AND FRANKLIN STREET. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the report and referred the matter to the City Manager so this can be worked out with the property owners (City Attorney and City Engineer were included), seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. LETTER CO(TNTY ENGINEER REGARDING DRAINAGE CONDITIONS, ALAMEDA AND FERNSIDE. Councilman Weiss moved that this be placed on the agenda for 90 days for a report at that time, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. LETTER FROM PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING DENIAL, PETITION OF A. & E. MAIRANI PROPERTY AT 46 MWA AVENUE FROM R-2 AND C -1—H to C -!P1 -H and LETTER FROM A. & E. MAIRANI APPEALING THE DECISION OF PLANNING COMMISSION. Councilman Stout moved that this be referred back to the Planning Commission as requested by the Directors seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. LETTER FROM PLANNING COMMISSION REGARDING MARY TREACY REQUEST TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 600. Councilman Stout moved to accept the report, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION TO AMEND SECTION 21.6 OF ORDINANCE N0. 600 TO PROVIDE FOR A FIVE DAY APPEAL PERIOD ON USE PERMITS. Councilman Stout moved that this matter be set for public hearing on March 24th, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. CITY ENGINEER RECOMMENDATION TO ACCEPT FIRE ENGINE DRAFTING PTT AND PAYMENT OF 10% RETENTION TO HOWARD BRU, CONTRACTOR ($457.20). Councilman Spillers moved approval of the recommendation of the City Engineer and Fire Chief, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. CITY AUDITOR REQUEST AUTHORIZATION TO MAKE CERTAIN CORRECTIONS IN 1957-58 TAX ROLL. Councilman Granger moved to refer the matter to the City Attorney for proper procedure, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. J. & D. WISE APPLICATION FOR BILLIARD ROOM LICENSE AT 2108 BROADWAY (Ord. 406). Councilman Herkner moved approval of the recommendation of the Police Chief and allowed the application, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. NOTICE OF PENINSULA TRANSIT LINES APPLICATION FOR REVISION OF RATES AND REDUCTION IN ROUTES. Councilman Herkner made a committee report on the application. Councilman Spillers moved that they accept the Committee's report and hold the matter in abeyance until after the decision of the Public Utilities Commission has been reached and also that the matter be publicized in the newspaper, seconded by Coun— cilman Weiss and carried. Councilman Stout moved that the matter of increase in rates be referred to the Committee, seconded by Councilman Weymouth.and carried. LETTER FROM CITY ENGINEER REGARDING ACCEPTANCE. OF IMPROVEMENTS IN VALOTA MANOR TRACT. Councilman -Stout moved approval of the recommendation of the City Engineer, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. NOTICE OF PROPOSED INCORPORATION OF AREA ADJACENT TO EASTERLY LIMITS OF MENLO PARK, BOUNDED ON THE SOUTH BY SAN FRANCISQUITO CREEK AND ON THE EAST BY BAYSHORE HIGHWAY. Councilman Granger moved that the records shoat that the City has no objection, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. LETTER FROM CITY ENGINEER REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF EASEMENTS, FARM HILL NO. 2. Coancilman Spillers moved approval of the City Engineer's recommendation and authorized the City Clerk to accept the easement and a minute order be,issued, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. ,
