144 <br />SAID RESERVOIRS, AND PAINTING AND CATHODIC PROTECTION OF SAID RESERVOIRS, IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AND <br />AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION THEREOF and moved its adoption, seconded by <br />Councilman Stout and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Stout offered CEDINANCZ-1891 AMENDING SECTIONS 3 AND 6 OF ARTICLE I OF ORDINANCE NO. 639 (SIDEWALK <br />AND DRIVEWAY ORDINANCE) TO FIX TIME WITHIN WHICH APPEALS MAY BE MADE TO SHOP CAUSE WHY WORK SHOULD NOT BE <br />DONE OR TIME EXTENDED and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried unanimously on roll <br />call. <br />Councilman Spillers offered ORDINANCE NO. 600.83 AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 600 TO REZONE LOTS 1, 2, 3, AND PORTION <br />OF LOT 4, BLOCK 13, RANGE D, MEZESVILLE, FROM R-4 TO C-1 DISTRICT and moved its adoptions seconded by <br />Councilman Weymouth and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />LETTER FROM B. P. 0. E. WITHDRAWING OBJECTIONS TO WATER RESERVOIR SITE IN FARM HILL NO. 4. Councilman Stout <br />moved that the letter be accepted and filed, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />LETTER FROM THE COUNTY BUILDING DEPARTMENT REGARDING AUTHORITY TO REMOVE FOUR LARGE TREES IN PROPOSED PARKING <br />AREA BOUNDED BY BRADFORD, WINSLOW.. FULLER AND HAMILTON. Councilman Granger moved that a "minute order" be <br />authorized to remove the trees, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried, Councilman Weiss voting No. <br />REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE REPORT ON APPRAISAL OF LOTS 14 AND 21, BLOCK l2, WEST RED900D ADDITION N0: 1. Councilman <br />Granger moved to accept the Real Estate Committeels report and approved their reccmmendatton, the assessed <br />valuation for lots in question is $2,500 and it is the intent of the Council that the lots be advertised <br />for bid, the City to accept at least 90% of the fill valuation, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />CITY ENGINEER REGARDING SUGGESTED FORMULA FOR DISTRIBUTION OF COUNTY GAS TAX FUNDS. Councilman Weiss moved to <br />accept the report and each member of the Council to receive a copy of the report, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried. <br />The Mayor called attention to the 7:30 dinner meeting on March 20th of the League of California Cities. <br />EASEMENT ABANDONMENT, FARM HILLS NO. 3. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the City Engineer's recommendation <br />and referred the matter to the City Attorney for proper procedure, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and car- <br />ried. <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMEND THAT COMMUNITY PAR BE POSTED PROHIBITING GOLFING, OTHER THAN SUPERVISED <br />INSTRUCTION. This was held up until later in the meeting. <br />PARK, AND RECREATION COMJISSION RECOMMEND TTAT THE RECREATION DIRECTOR BE PROVIDED WITH FUNDS IN THE 1958-59 <br />BUDGET FOR QUALIFIED LITTLE LEAGUE UMPIRES WHERE NEEDED. This was referred to the City Manager for budget <br />study. <br />LETTER FROM ALFRED MORTON TO THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION REGARDING USE AND MAINTENANCE OF FIELDS FOR USE <br />BY THE LITTLE LEAGUE AND BABE RUTH LEAGUE. The City Manager was asked to get a copy of the letter from the <br />Park and Recreation Commission and give a copy to Councilman Staut. <br />Councilman Granger suggested that the City Manager check into the possibility -of the City being able to borrow <br />funds from the Federal Government or the State in connection with the Sewage Plant Bond issuee Councilman <br />Granger so moved, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />Councilman Weiss referred to the City Manager's report on the financing of the sewage plant extension and asked <br />for additional information. He turned a list of questions he wanted answered over to the City Manager. <br />Councilman Weiss referred to the March 6th edition of the Tribune wherein it was mentioned that Woodside is <br />forming irsewer district that will connect into the Fair Oaks District. Mr. Jain reported on his discus- <br />sion with Don Wilson, County Engineer. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the City Manager make a recommendation on the matter of golf balls in Commanity <br />Park. This motion lost for lack of a second. Councilman Granger then moved that this matter be placed on <br />the agenda for next Monday night ( March 17th) for a report, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />0 <br />0 <br />0 <br />0 <br />
