Meeting <br />adjourned, 10.55 p. m. <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />March 17, 1958, 8:00 P.M. <br />R. S. Dodges - <br />s Clerk <br />Invocation was lead by Reverend David Held, First Congregaticmal Church. <br />ON ROLL.CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, Robert V. <br />Spillers, Hiram S. Stout, Louis Weiss, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. <br />Also present were City Manager E. A.Rolison, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, City Attorney Robert J. <br />Costello, Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Water Superintendent H. L. Winters Planning Director William <br />Rodgers, Planning Commissioner Vincent Rambo, Police Chief William Faulstich, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi and <br />Senior Stenographer Clerk Vivian Holmquist. <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the minutes of March 3rd and March 10th as mailed, seconded by Coun— <br />cilman Granger. Councilman Weiss asked that the minutes of March 10th, second page, Real Estate <br />Committee Report, show that the assessed valuation f or lots in question is $22500 and it is the intent <br />of the Council that the lots be advertised for bid, the City to accept at least 90% of the full valuation. <br />This was included in the motion which carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON OFFICIAL PLAN LINES, SIERRA STREET EXTENSION (FROM EXISTING TERMINUS TO 500 FEET NORTH- <br />WESTERLY CF WOODSIDE ROAD). The affidavit of publication was ord eyed filed. After a very lengthly <br />discussion with seven people protesting the extension of Sierra Street, Councilman Spillers moved that <br />the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. Councilman Granger moved <br />to refer the matter.back to the Planning Commission for further consideration, seconded by Councilman <br />Stout. The motion lost on roll call with Councilmen Herkner, Spillers, Weymouth and Mayor Royer voting <br />No, and Councilmen Granger, Stout and Weiss voting Yes. <br />Councilman Weiss moved that the Council go an record as approving the plan lines as indicated on the <br />map excluding the portion from the FG&E 27t easement to the end of the dul—de—sac as indicated on the <br />map initialed by the City Engineer, seconded by Councilman Stout. This motion lost on roll call with <br />Councilmen Granger, Herkner, Spillers, Weymouth and Mayor Royer voting No, and Councilmen Stout and <br />Weiss voting Yes. <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the Planning Commissionts recommendation, seconded by Councilman <br />Weymouth and carried on roll..call, Councilmen Herkner, Spillers, Weymouth and Mayor Royer voting Yes <br />and Councilmen Granger, Stout and Weiss voting No. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the Planning Commission look into the possibility of abandoning a portion <br />of the dedicated street by indicating to the City Council the feasibility of eliminating the extension <br />of the street through to Woodside Road with the thought in mind that they retain the 11 strip of Mr. <br />Marcellits property so he will not have access to the cul—de—sac, seconded by Councilman Herkner. Coun— <br />cilman Weiss amended the motion to check into the advisability of paying for the property that they <br />own and are gong to retain (compensate the property owner). The amendment lost for lack of a second. <br />The original motion carried. <br />LETTER OF APPEAL FROM FARM HILL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION TO PLANNING CCM6dISSION GRANTING W USE PERMIT TO <br />FERREM AND DAY FOR RECREATION CENTER IN FARM HILL AREA.
