Councilman Weiss moved to refer the matter to the City Manager for appropriate action, sec- <br />onded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMOM REMOVAL CF ARTERIAL STOPS ON PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE AT ITS INTERSECTION <br />WITH CEDAR STREET. Councilman Stout moved approval of tthe Committee's recommendation and referred the mat- <br />ter to the City Attorney for the proper procedure, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />LETTER FROM WATER CONTROL BOARD WITH REGARD TO SENAGE TREATMENT BOND ISSUE. Councilman Herkner moved that this <br />letter be given to the press and ask them to give it wide spread publicity, seconded by Councilman Weiss and <br />carried. <br />LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES RECOMMENDED THAT MURIEL MERMAN, CITY LIBRARIAN, BE GIVEN A STEP INCREASE FROM STEP 4 TO <br />STEP 5 EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 1958. Councilman Stout moved that Mrs. Merman be given the 5th step increase effect- <br />ive May 1, 1958s seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />LETTER FROM THE ORDER OF ELKS REGARDING TUM SUDEN WATER FRANCHISE. Councilman Granger moved that this matter be <br />referred to the City Attorney for the preparation of the proper lease, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner offered RESOLUTION 2427 PROVIDING THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY SHALL EXERCISE <br />EXCLUSIVE JURISDICTION WITH REGARD TO THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF ANY BONDS FOR PORT DEVELOPMENT OR IMPROVEMENT <br />APPROVED AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HEIR APRIL 8, 1958, seconded by Councilman Granger Who <br />asked that the press be furnished a copy of the resolution. The motion carried unanimously on roll call. <br />CITY MANAGER REPORT ON EXTENDING SANITARY SEVER LINES ALONG HARBCR BOULEVARD TO SERVE THE MARINE HARBOR AND OTHER. <br />PORT PROPERTIES. Councilman Herkner moved that this matter be set for a stud meeting prior to budget study <br />time, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />Councilman Stout offered introduction of an ordinance amending Subsection (r), Section 1, Ordinance No. 863, being <br />the Annual Appropriation Ordinance of the City of Redwood City for the fiscal year Julyl, 1957 -June 30, 1958, <br />to provide for an additional appropriation of $3,000 from Unappropriated Balance of the General Fund to the <br />Recreation Department, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Assessor Brophy reported on the meeting with the County with regard to the spreading of gas tax monies between <br />the County and the Cities in the peninsula. There will be another meeting at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April <br />1, 1958. Councilman Weiss moved that Mr. Brophyfs report be made a part of the minutes, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Weymouth and carried. <br />The Mayor stated that there would be a stud meeting Wednesday night, April 2nd, at 8:00 p.m. to s turfy the <br />matter of bridges. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried.
