Councilman Stout moved that Ted Thompson, Ottis Carrington and Clifton Woodhams be reappointed for a 2 year term to the Veterans Memorial Commission, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. The replacement for Jim Hedge will be made at the next meeting. Councilman Granger asked for a report on the statue in Union Cemetery. The City Manager reported that he finally received word from the State that they are checking into the matter and will let him know the outcome as soon as possible. Claims 24489 through 24637, totaling $92,762.08, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. Councilman Stout asked that consideration be given to building a Youth Center at the present site of the old Veterans Building and he suggested the name of Mezes Youth Building or Mezes Youth Center, Councilman Weymouth moved that the meeting be adjourned to January 13th at the hour of 8:00 P.M., seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
