170 <br />of a second. <br />Councilman Granger moved to accept the report and authorize the City Manager to make it a part of the <br />budget, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />CITY ATTORNEY OPINION REGARDING PCLICE DEPARTMENT AUTO PURCHASE. Councilman Spillers moved that they concur <br />with the recommendation of the City Manager and Police Chief and taking into consideration the low over- <br />all cost, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried, Councilman Herkner and Mayor Royer voting No. <br />Councilman Weiss reported that there would be a reception for the City Manager on May 1st so everyone could <br />meet Mr. Neal. The Chamber of Commerce made the arrangements and the reception will be from .7:30 to <br />9:00 p.m. on May lot at the Veteran's Memorial Building. The Redwood City Junior Women's Club will <br />serve the refreshments. <br />The City Clerk was asked to place on the agenda for the next Council meeting the matter of a report from the <br />City Engineer with regards to the plans on the finger piers at the Marine Harbor. <br />The.Clerk was also asked to place on the agenda for next week the matter of a report from the City At- <br />torney on the Yacht Harbor ordinance. <br />Councilman Spillers offered introduction of an ordinance to provide for incurring a bonded indebtedness by <br />the City of Redwood City in the sum of $500,000, for the acquisition, construction and completion of the <br />following municipal improvement, to wit: improvements for the municipal water system; prescribing the <br />date and form of said bonds and of the coupons to be attached thereto. fixing the maximum rate of interest <br />on said bonds and prescribing the maturities thereof; authorizing the execution of said bonds and coupons; <br />and providing for the levying of a tax for.the payment of the principal and interest thereof, seconded by <br />Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Weymouth offered introduction of an ordinance amending subsection (a), section 1, Ordinance No. 863, <br />being the Annual Appropriation Ordinance of the City of Redwood City for the fiscal year July 1, 1957- <br />June 30, 1958s to,provide for an additional appropriation of $850 from the Unappropriated Balance,of the <br />General Fund to General.Go+vernment for miscellaneous expenditures.9 seconded by Councilman Herkner and car- <br />ried. <br />Councilman Spillers offered introduction of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 824.9 being the Salary Ordinance <br />of the City of Redwood City, by repealing section 2.711, and adding a new section 3, to establish an annual <br />salary for the office of City Manager, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Granger offered introduction of an ordinance prohibiting unsupervised golfing in the Public Parks <br />in the City of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2435 GRANTING REVOCABLE PERMISSION TO.PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY <br />TO INSTALL OVERHEAD ELECTRIC WIRES OVER CERTAIN CITY STREETS and moved its adoption, seconded by Council- <br />man Herkner and carriedunanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Herkner offered RESOLUTION 2436 TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING $275.00 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE <br />OF THE GENERAL FUND TO OFFICE OF CITY ATTORNEY FOR SUPPLIES AND SERVICES and moved its adoption, seconded <br />by Councilman Weiss and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2437 AUTHORIZING THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO APPROVE TENTATIVE SUBDIVISION <br />MAP WITH DESIGNATED EXCEPTIONS TO CERTAIN PROVISIONS CF CRDIANCE NO. 631, BEING THE SUBDIVISION ORDIANCE <br />OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY (Newell Park Subdivision) and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and :carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Granger offered RESOLUTION 2438 ACCEPTING BID FOR SALE OF CITY OF REDWOOD CITY'S INTEREST IN REAL <br />PROPERTY (Lots 14 and 21,.Block l2, West Redwood - Michael C. Callan) and moved its adoption, seconded by <br />Councilman Weiss and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />
