0 <br />C <br />0 <br />Councilman Weiss offered RESOLUTION 2139 DECLARING DESIGNATED INTERSECTION AN UNCONTROLLED INTERSECTION AND <br />REMOVAL OF STOP SIGN (Pennsylvania Avenue and Cedar Street) and moved its adoption., seconded by Council— <br />man Herkner and carried unanimously on r o11 calla <br />Councilman Herkner offered RESOLUTION 241.40 ABOLISHING PORTION OF PARKING METER ZONE ON SOUTH SIDE OF JAMES <br />AVENUE WEST OF FRANKLIN STREET; DIRECTING THE REMOVAL OF DESIGNATED PARKING METER; AND ESTABLISHING <br />LOADING ZONE and moved its adoption., seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried unanimously on roll <br />call. <br />CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A WATER FLOURIDATION PROGRAM. Councilman Weiss moved that the <br />resolution be accepted and taken under advisement and referred to the Committee., seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and carried. <br />CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TRAFFIC & HIGHWAY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS. Councilman Weiss moved that the report be <br />accepted and taken under advisement and the Chamber of Commerce be asked to make a study and recommend— <br />ation on the financing of the program, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />DOWNTOWN IMERCHA14TS DIVISION OF THE REDWOOD CITY CHAMBER OF C CIWERCE REQUEST PERMIT TO USE PUBLIC SIDEWALKS <br />ALONG BROADWAY FOR "COMMUNITY FLOWER SHOW" AND"SIDEWALK DAYS". Councilman Spillers moved to grant the <br />permits seconded by Councilman Weymouth. Councilman Weiss rramended the motion to provide that parking <br />be prohibited during the hours that the sale is going on. After some discussion Caanei]man Weiss with— <br />drew his amendment. Councilman Spillers added to his motion that the matter be referred to the City <br />Attorney f or the proper procedure and authority to draw up the necessary revocable permit., seconded by <br />Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call, Councilman Weiss voting No. <br />SET PUBLIC HEARING ON APPEAL OF LOCATION OF, WATER RESERVOIR., FARM HILL NO. ale Councilman Spillers moved to <br />set the matter for public hearing on April 28, seconded by Councilman Rosselli. Councilman Herkner <br />asked that the picture he had of a water tank be brought to the meeting. The motion carried. <br />LETTER FROM CITY ENGINEER REQUESTING AUTHORITY TO TRANSFER $483.03 FROM UNBUDGETED RESERVE TO CLEAR FOUR <br />-OVERDRAWN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT ACCODUNTS. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the recommendation <br />and referred it to -the City Attorney for the proper ordinance,, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and <br />carried. <br />REQUEST PROPERTY OWNERS TO IMPROVE CREEK THROUGH BLOCK BOUNDED BY OAK., ROOSEVELTS CLEVELAND AND FAY STREETS. <br />Councilman Weiss moved to refer the matter to the City Manager for a report back.9 seconded by Council— <br />man Rosselli and carried. <br />LETTER REGARDING ALLEGED INJURIES MRS. ANN LESTER FROM TRIPPING OVER FORM STAKE, CONCRETE SIDEWALK CORNER <br />EL CAMIN REAL AND VERA AVENUE. Councilman Weymouth moved to deny the claim and -referred the matter <br />to the Insurance carrier., seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />The Mayor announced that the Study Meeting would be April 29th instead of April 30th., as previously noted. <br />Councilman Weymouth announced that the Freevey Would be dedicated on Monday., April 28th, at 11:00 a.m. <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the City Managerts reappointing Mrs. Louise Tornell and Mr, James <br />Knecht to the Park and Recreation Commission for the term commencing April 1958 and ending April <br />1962, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />MICHAEL J. NOVIK REQUEST PERMISSION TO DISTRIBUTE CAMPAIGN LITERATURE AND SOLICITY CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS <br />IN REFERENCE TO THE 1958 CALIFORNIA POLITICAL CAMPAIGN. Councilman Weiss moved approval of the request <br />and granting of a permit.. seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll calls, Councilman Herkner <br />and Rosselli voting Noe <br />CITY ASSESSOR REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION TO REFUND 1957-58 TAXES COLLECTED IN ERROR from Nels Oe Strandberg <br />in the amount of $12.56. Councilman Weiss moved that the refund be allowed., seconded by Councilman <br />Granger and carried. <br />
