Councilman Weymouth moved to grant the petition for variance <br />i.m accordance with and subject to the conditions sta ted in report cf City Engineer for the reason <br />that unnecessary hardship exists and the intention of the Sidewalk and Driveway Ordinance will be car- <br />ried out, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Councilman Weiss offered an amendment to the motion that <br />the City Attorney be authorized to draw up the variance permit. This was added to the motion which <br />carried. <br />CITY AUDITOR RECOMMENDS TRANSFER OF FUNDS. Councilman Spillers offered introduction of an ordinance amending <br />Subsections (a), (b), (h),, (s), (u), and (v), Section 10 Ordinance No. 863 being the annual appropriation <br />ordinance of the City of Redwood City for the fiscal year, July 1, 1957 to June 30, 1958 to provide for <br />an additional appropriation of $1,975 from the unappropriated Balance -of the General Fund to: General <br />Government for Insurance and Personal Bonds for City Property, Officers and Employees; to City Manager <br />Supplies and Services, to Yacht Harbor Supplies and Services; to Paint Department Motor Vehicles and <br />to Municipal Shop Motor Vehicles, and to provide for the transfer of $1,500.00 from the Planning Depart— <br />ment Salaries account to the Planning Department Supplies and Services, seconded by Councilman Rosselli <br />and carried. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE REQUEST CONSIDERATION OF A PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDING AND ADDING TO TRAFFIC <br />ORDINANCE NO. 758. Councilman Rosselli offered introduction of an ordinance amending Sections 192 and <br />193 of Ordinance No. 758 regulating traffic on the streets of Redwood City and adding thereto Sections <br />192.1 through 192.13 and 193.1 through 193.4 to provide for limited parking on c ertain enumerated streets,' <br />except on specified days, and to provide prohibition against pa rking at specified times on certain <br />streets except on certain specified days, seconded by Councilman Weiss and ca cried. <br />LIBRARY BOARD REQUEST CONSIDERATION OF A PROPOSED ORDINANCE PROVIDING REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO PUBLIC LIB— <br />RARIES AND OTHER PUBLIC BUILDINGS GOVERNING MALICIOUS MISCHIEF AND REFUSAL TO RETURN CITY PROPERTY. <br />Councilman Herkner offered introduction of an ordinance of the City of Redwood City providing regulations <br />applicable to public libraries and other public buildings governing malicious mischief and refusal to <br />return city property, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />REQUEST FOR ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT DEED FROM ODDSTAD HOMES TO CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FOR A WIDENING STRIP ALONG <br />THE S()UTHERLY SIDE OF JEFFERSON AVENUE BETWEEN THE WESTERLY CITY LIMITS OF REDWOOD CITY, WEST OF HIGH— <br />LAND AVENUE, AND THE SAN FRANCISCO HETCH-HETCHY RIGHT—CF—WAY. Councilman Spillers moved to authorize <br />and direct the City Clerk to accept the deed, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried.
