Councilman Stout moved that the matter be referred back to the <br />Planning Commission per their request., seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried* <br />PUBLIC HEARING., AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 600 TO ESTABLISH 11H" DISTRICT, SOUTH SME CF MARSHALL STREET BETWEEN <br />MAPLE AND CHESTNUT STREETS. The notice of mailing was ordered filed. Their being no protestss written <br />or orals Councilman Spillers moved that the public hearing be closeds seconded by Councilman Weiss and <br />carried. Councilman Weiss moved approval' of the Planning Commissiont s recommendation and referred the <br />matter to the City Attorney for proper procedure., seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried, <br />CITY MANAGER REPORT REGARDING SEQUOIA HOSPITALISEffER RENTAL ACCOUNT: The Mayor reported that the Committee <br />had a meeting with the Hospital group* Councilman Spillers moved that this matter be carried on the <br />agenda for one weeks seconded by Councilman Stout and carried* <br />CITY MANAGER REPORT ON BID OPENING, GASOLINE REQUIREMENTS. 'Councilman Herkner moved approval of the City <br />Managerts recommendation to award the low bid to Standard Oil Company (.216¢` net per gallon) and refer- <br />red the matter to the City Attorney for proper procedures seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried* <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION ON OPENING OF S. P. COMPANY CROSSINGS. Councilman Granger <br />moved that they show in the minutes that they., the Council., are not satisfied with the elimination cf <br />the gateman at the Broadway crossings seconded by Councilman Spillers. The motion was changed to accept <br />the report and show that they concurred with the report completelys however$ there should be a flagman <br />at the Broadway signal* After further discussion the motion was changed to concur with t1B report but <br />to request due consideration of the flagman at the Broadway crossings and the Council to hold a study <br />meeting. The motion carried. (City Clerk's file - 21. UTILITIES - PUBLIC UTILITIES C M-USSION) <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON STATUS OF SPRUCE STREET PLAN LINES, The City Attorney made an oral report and sug- <br />gested'that if they wished to proceed with the plan lines that the matter be set for a public hearing. <br />The Planning Commission recommended that the Council take affirmative action on the Spruce Street plan <br />lines at its earliest convenience. Councilman H&kner moved that a public hearing be held on February <br />10th, in the meantime the City Manager was instructed to get in touch with the Highway Commission and <br />see what their recommendation is and get some up-to-date informationy seconded by Councilman Granger* <br />The motion was changed to set the public hearing for February 17ths the Council to decide at a later <br />date what street the plan lines were to be heard on. Councilman Her-kner withdrew his motion and then <br />moved that the City Manager contact the Highway Commission and get the latest up-to-date information as <br />soon as possible so the Council could hold a study meeting to decide on their action, seconded by <br />Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers offered introduction of an ordinance authorizing acquisition of property from the State <br />of California and appropriate funds for the payment thereof ($1.,351)s seconded by Councilman Weymouth <br />and carried* (acquisition of State property at Industrial Way) <br />Councilman Spillers offered introduction of an ordinance authorizing exchange of property Industrial Ways <br />Nielson & Ellis$ seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLUTION REGARDING COUNTY SHARE OF SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT ADDITION. Councilman Weiss <br />moved that the City Manager be directed to negotiate with the proper authorities of the County for an <br />agiteement, to be approved by the District and the Council$ seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the City Attorney be instructed to proceed with the Sewage Treatment <br />Plant addition bond issue in the amount of $976s000.003 seconded by Councilman Granger and carried* <br />Councilman Granger moved that the City Attorney be authorized to contact bond attorneys Orrick., <br />Dahlquists Herrington & Stucliffe for an opinion prior to the calling of the bands, seconded by <br />Councilman Stout and carried. <br />PLANNING CCHMISSION RECO120MATION ON REZONING PORTION OF LOT Up BLOCK Es WOODSIDE ACRES., (McCavitt property$ <br />1600 Block Kentfield)e Councilman Stout moved to set this matter for a public hearing on February 10th, <br />
