126 <br />seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF RESUBDIVISION OF LOTS 22, 23 AND 244 BLOCK 3, PORTOLA ADDITION INTO <br />TWO LOTS, 3721 (Manuel Cano, 1829 Poplar Ave.). Councilman Stout moved approval of the Planning Commissionts <br />recommendation seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner offered introduction of an ordinance establishing rules and regulations for the operation of. <br />the Redwood City Marine Harbor and repealing Ordinance No. 466, seconded by Councilman Spillers. After some <br />discussion the motion was changed to continue the matter for one geek and copies of the proposed ordinance <br />to be made available for the Council. The motion carried. <br />Councilman Weiss moved that the City Manager study the proposed ordinance and make his recommendation at the <br />next meeting, seconded by Councilman Stout. The motion lost on roll call with Councilmen Granger, Herkner, <br />Spillers Weymouth and Mayor Royer voting No. <br />Councilman Herkner offered resolution establishing rates and changes for use of facilities and services of <br />Redwood City Marine Harbor and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers. After some discussion <br />the motion was withdrawn and the matter would be carried over until the next meeting. <br />TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED ERECTING A STOP SIGN ON DOUGLASS AVENUE AT BAY ROAD TO CONTROL WEST BOUND TRAFFIC <br />AT DOUGLASS. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the recommendation and referred the matter to the City <br />Attorney for proper procedure, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />CONSIDERATION ON REGULATION OF SIGNS ADJACENT TO FREEWAYS. Councilman Spillers moved to turn the proposed ord— <br />inance over to the Sign Committee for consideration and request they report back in two weeks, each member <br />of the Council to receive a copy of the proposed ordinance, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />PORT 001111 dISSIONERS RECCW.IEND THAT A GENERAL (13LIGATION BOND ISSUE BE SUBMITTED IN THE AMOUNT OF $4009000 TO THE <br />ELECTORS OF THE_ CITY OF REDffOOD CITY AT THE NEXT GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON APRIL 83 1958. The Mayor <br />declared a recess to discuss the matter, 9:45 p.m. <br />The meeting was called back to order at 10:12 p.m. Councilman Herkner moved, based on the previous meet— <br />ing with the Port Commissioners and the recommendation of the Citizens Cor-mittee, that they put before the <br />people a bond issue for the improvement of Port facilities., seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on <br />roll call, Councilman Weiss voting No. <br />Councilman Spillers moved to set the bond issue at $350,000 and the City Attorney was authorized to prepare <br />the necessary papers, seconded by Councilman Herkner. Councilman Stout moved to amend the motion to set the <br />figure at $300,000. The amendment lost for lack of a second. The original motion carried on roll call with <br />Councilman Weiss voting No. <br />Councilman Granger moved to instruct. the City A ttorney to draw up the necessary resolution that the Council <br />concurred in the recommendation of the Port Commission for a bond issue, seconded by Councilman Herkner and <br />carried on roll call. <br />BELMONT COUNTY WATER DISTRICT REQUEST PERMISSION TO INSTALL NEW SUPPLY MAIN IN WHIPPLE AVENUE, OAKDALE STREET <br />AND FINGER AVENUE. The Mayor referred this matter to the study meeting Wednesday night, the City Manager <br />to make his report at that meeting. <br />Councilman Granger moved that the subject of the removal of the gateman at the Broadway railroad crossing be <br />referred to the Traffic Committee far a recommendation, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />Councilman Weiss moved that his statement with regard to the Port bond issue be made a part of the minutes. <br />This motion lost for lack of a second. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried.
