127 <br />Minutes of the Regular Adjourned Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />Tuesday., January 21, 1958, 8.-00 P.M. <br />Invocation was lead by Reverend Wilbur Viesterdahls Peninsula Covenant Church* <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger$ Sidney D. Herkner., Hiram S. <br />Stoutj Louis Weiss$ Ray Weymouth., Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Councilman Robert <br />V. Spillers was noted absent. Also present were City Manager E. A. Rolis on CityEngineer Glenn M <br />Jain., City Attorney Robert J. Costello., Assistant Fire Chief Willis Leslie$ Building Inspector S. H. <br />Kreiss$ Assistant to the City Manager Le A. Kimball$ Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophys Police Captain <br />Theodore Moudakass Senior Stenographer Clerk Vivian Holmquist* <br />Councilman Granger moved approval of the minutes of January 6th and 13th as mailed., seconded by Councilman <br />Stout and carried* <br />The City Clerk administered the Oath of Office to Fred Priest., new member of the Veterans Memorial Commissions <br />PUBLIC HEARING, KENTFIELD-PALM-VALOTA AND VICINITY IMPROVEMENTS. The affidavit of publication was ordered <br />filed along with the letter of consent from E. T. Haas Co. There being no protestsp written or oralp <br />Councilman Herkner moved that the public hearing'be closed., seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried* <br />Councilman Weymouth offered RESOLUTION 2377 ORDERING MODIFICATION OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO* 2210s, <br />KENTFIELD-PALM-VALOTA AND VICINITY IMPROVEMENTS., and moved its adoption., seconded by Councilman Herkner <br />and carried on roll call., Councilman Spillers being noted absent* <br />Councilman Weiss moved that the following statement be made a part of the minutes,1 seconded by Councilman <br />k <br />Stout, Councilman Granger asked that the record show he asked at the meeting in question that names <br />not be mentioned as they had no bearing on the situation. This was included in the motion which carried* <br />At our meeting of January 6 & 13., this council had under consideration the offer by Attorney Daba to <br />compromise amounts due the city for delinquent taxes., assessments., etc* on lots 14 & 21, Block 12., <br />West Redwood* <br />During deliberations statements were made by members of the council that implied that the properties <br />in question were owned by one Mr, Tam Callan, Our county Supervisor. <br />In checking on this matter with the City Collector's office, I learned that Tom Callan is not the <br />owner of record according to the records of the City Collector* <br />It is my belief that in the interests of clarifying the situation in the public mind and our owns this <br />council should take cognizance of the fact that Mr. Tom Callan is not the owner of record of the prop- <br />erties in. question. I so*moveo <br />CITY MANAGER REPORT ON STATUS OF SEQUOIA RESERVOIR. Councilman Stout moved to accept the report of the <br />City Manager, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. (City Clerk's files - 21* UTILITIES - <br />WATER RESERVOIRS) <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON RECORDING OF MINUTES. Councilman Weiss moved that the report be accepted., the matter <br />be taken under advisement and taken up at a future meeting., and members of the Council desiring a copy <br />of the report be furnished one., seconded by Councilman Stout. The motion lost on roll call with a tie <br />vote; Councilmen Granger., Weymouth., and Mayor Royer voting No., Councilmen Herkner., Stout and Weiss <br />voting Yes and Councilman Spillers being noted absent* <br />Councilman Stout moved that a copy of the report be made available to each member of the Council., sec- <br />onded by Councilman Herkner and carried. (1* ADMDTISTRATION - CITY ATTORNEY) <br />SIDEWALK COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS. Councilman Herkner moved to accept the report and recommendations of the <br />Sidewalk Committee (notice numbers 406, 839, 849), seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />FURTHER CONSIDERATION REQUEST FOR REAPPORTIONMENT OF ASSESSMENTS 2-B AND 2-C.9 TNDTTSTRIAL WAY IMPROVEMENTS. <br />I Councilman Herkner moved that the Superintendent of Streets file an amended assessment with the City <br />Clerk, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 810 REGULATING FOOD SALES. The affidavit of publication was ordered <br />filed# Councilman Weiss offered ORDINANCE 880 AMENDING SECTIONS 1, 4o SUBSECTION A, AND SUBSECTION C9 <br />
