After some discussion and in keeping with the present policy, Councilman Weymouth moved that the request be denied, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. PETITICN FOR IMPROVEMENTS ON GLENWOOD AVENUE, BAIN PLACE, BREEZE PLACE AND VICINITY. Petitioners request new standards for street improvements; improvements to be of lesser width and otherwise below stan- dards set up generally for City street construction; construction to be less than standard requirements of curb and gutter; standard cast iron mains and fire hydrants the cost of which the Water Department is to meet one-half of the expense and the property owners to assume the cost of the remaining one-half. City Engineer recommends standa rd improvements. Councilman Weymouth moved to carry this on the agenda for two weeks and the City Manager to call a meeting of the Council to discuss the matter, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. BUILDING INSPECTOR REPORT ON "PAT HIGGIN'S BIT OIERIN". Building Inspector Kreiss reported that no changes in the building construction were observed other than general clean-up, painting, and new furnishings for which no permits are required. William son, Commanding Officer USS RATON, sent a placque to the mayor for the hospitality shown to the creq and officers of his ship during their stay at the Part over the holiday week -end. STANDARD OIL COMPANY requested that approval be given for the replacement of a leaking 550 gallon under- ground tank under the sidewalk at the corner of Main and Maple Streets. Councilman Weiss moved to con- tinue the matter for one week, the City Manager to make a report and recommendations seconded by Council- man Herkner and carried. American Trust Company, First Western Bank and Wells Fargo Bank notified the City that the inactive fund agfzeements will be cancelled on September 29th. Prior to the termination date they will review the level and trend of money rates and prepare and submit to the City a new agreement at a rate of int - be erest which will tually acceptable. No Council action was necessary. Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESCLUTION NO. 2506 APPROPRIATING THE TOTAL SUM OF $745.00 FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED UNBUDGETED BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND FOR CERTAIN STATED OPERATING EXPENSES, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call, Councilman Granger being noted absent. Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2507 BEING THE RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION, DUANE STREET CULVERT, and setting the public hearing for July 21st, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried on roll call, Councilman Granger being noted absent.
