`3 <br />e <br />The Mayor announced that the Council will sit as a BOARD OF EQUALIZATION on July 21st at 10:00 a. m. <br />Councilman Herkner moved to thank and recognize the work of the police Department and Police Reserve did <br />over the July 4th week -end, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />Councilman Granger again mentioned the lighting in the down town business district and asked that something <br />be done to rectify the poor lighting. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. M. <br />Invocation was led by Reverend John Fast, Free Methodist Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, Louis <br />Weiss, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Councilmen John Rosselli <br />and Robert V. Spillers were noted absent. Also present were City Manager J. E. Neal, City Engineer <br />Glenn M. Jain, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, Planning Director William Rodgers, Traffic Engineer <br />Arthur U.Eskelin, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Police Chief William Faulstich, Police Captain <br />Theodore Moudakas, Planning Commissioners Rambo and Bedbury and Deputy City Clerk Vivian Holmquist. <br />Councilman Herkner moved approval of the minutes of July 7th and July 14th, as mailed, seconded by Council- <br />man Weymouth and carried. <br />SWEARING IN CEREMONY was administered by the City Clerk to Robert Bury, the new Port Commissioner, <br />PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING ESTABLISHMENT OF OFFICIAL PLAN LINES IN REDWOOD CITY ON JEFFERSON AVENUE FROM EL <br />CAMINO REAL TO UPTON STREET. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. After some discussion, <br />Councilman Weiss moved to continue the hearing for two weeks, August 4th, seconded by Councilman <br />Granger with the understanding that the Clerk will send out post card notices. The motion carried. <br />CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER APPEAL FROM PLANNING COMMISSIONIS DENIAL OF IAT SIZE AND IAT <br />FRONTAGE REQUIRIIENTS& THE SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE WITH RESPECT TO PORTIONSOF LOTS C AND E, MAP NO. 2 <br />OF WOOSTER, WHITTON AND MONTGOMERY X BDIVISION (P. C. case #58-37, Peter Giovannoni, 137 Roosevelt <br />Avenue). The City Clerk received a letter from Mr. Giovannoni requesting that his application be <br />withdrawn. Councilman Herkner moved to accept the petitioners correspondence and terminate the pro- <br />ceedings, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. Councilman Spillers appeared at 8:34 P. m. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON DUANE STREET CULVERT IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (between Harrison Avenue and James Avenue). <br />The affidavits of posting and publication were ordered filed. There being no protests, writt6n or <br />oral Councilman Herkner moved to close the <br />, public hearing, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2515 BEING THE RESOLUTION OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE <br />AND NECESSITY, DUANE STREET CULVERT IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried on <br />roll. call, Councilman Rosselli being noted abeent. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESCLUTION NO. 2516 APPROVING PLANS, PROFILES, DETAILED DRAWINGS <br />AND SPECIFICATIONS, DUANE STREET CULVERT IMPROVMENT DISTRICT, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried <br />on .roll call, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2517 BEING THE RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT <br />CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS, DUANE STREET CULVERT r.'(PROVEMENT DISTRICT, seconded by Councilman Spillers <br />and carried on roll call, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. <br />
