PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED DUANE STREET CULVERT ASSESSMENT DISTRICT, PER "RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO 2517" <br />ADOPTED BY THE COUNCIL ON JULY 21, 1958. The improvements are on Duane Street between Harrison and <br />James Avenues. The affidavits of Publication and Resolution of Intention, Notice Inviting Sealed bids, <br />mailing and posting notice of adoption of Resolution of Intention, Posting notice inviting sealed pro- <br />posals or bids wereall ordered filed. There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Spillers <br />moved that the puble hearing be closed., seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />The following bids were received: (Engineer's estimate, $15,560) <br />Power -Mullin Construction Inc. $15,227.00 <br />E. T. Haas & Co. 16,957.50 <br />C. J. Wood, Inc. 17,697.60 <br />The bids were referred to the Enginering Department for checking. <br />REPORT X SIDEKALK COMMITTEE <br />Sidewalk Notice 1062, Mary Evulich: It is the Committee's opinion that an additional extension requir- <br />ing the work to be completed by November 5, 1958s is advisable under the circumstances. Councilman <br />Spillers moved approval of the Committee's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />(minute order) <br />Sidewalk Notice 1030, Fracolli, 202 Redwood Avenue: Although the ordinance has not been complied with, <br />in that no written application has been filed, the committee decided to take cognizance of the memo <br />attached to the City Manager's file. After considering the circumstances involved, the committee re- <br />commends no extension. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the committee's recommendation, seconded <br />by Councilman Rosselli and carried. (minute order) <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Memo from the Atherton Plice expressing their appreciation for help given by Jim Frum with their sig- <br />nal problems. <br />Mrs. Emelda Weber, 1257 - 9th Avenue, extended her appreciation and thanks to the Police Chief and <br />the County of San Mateo to consider means of alleviating heavy truck traffic through the incorporated <br />and residential area of the Town of Woodside. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 2535, APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $500 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED <br />UNBUDGETED BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND TO THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT ACCOUNT FOR PAYMENT OF AUDITING FEES <br />DURING FISCAL YEAR 1958-1959, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried on roll call, Councilman Weymouth <br />being noted absent. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2536 TRANSFERRING $140,000 FROM GENERAL RESERVE ACCOUNT <br />TO THE GENERAL FUND FOR PAYMENT OF uu=W4-r MUNICIPAL EXPENSES AND PROVIDING FOR THE REPAYMENT OF SAID <br />SUM TO THE GENERAL RESERVE ACCOUNT PRIOR TO THE END OF THE FISCAL YEAR TERMINATING JUNE 30, 1959s sec- <br />onded by Councilman Rosselli. Councilman Granger moved to amend the resolution to set the date from <br />r..r <br />June 30, 1959 to December 1, 1958. The amendment lost for lack of a second. The original motion car- <br />ried on roll call with Councilman Granger voting no and Councilman Weymouth being noted absent. <br />Councilman Herkner moved to amend the proposed resolution (resolution transferring $210,000 from Equipment <br />Replacement Fund tb the General Fund for the payment of municipal expenses and providing for the repay- <br />ment of said sum to the Equipment Replacement Fund prior to the end of the current fiscal year, June <br />30 1959) <br />, and change the date of December 31, 1958 and adopt the resolution as amended, seconded by <br />Councilman Granger. The motion lost on roll call with Councilmen Granger and Herkner voting yes, <br />Councilmen Rosselli, Spillers, Weiss and Mayor Royer voting no, and Councilman Weymouth being noted <br />absent. <br />Councilman Spillers moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 2537 TRANSFERRING $210,000 FROM EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT <br />FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE PAYMENT OF MUNICIPAL EXPENSES AND PROVIDING FOR THE REPAYMENT OF SAID <br />
