'0 <br />�4- <br />0 <br />Councilman Fields moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0, 2905 AWARDING CONTRACT, BAYSHORE INDUSTRIAL PARK NO. <br />1 IMPROVEMENTS, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman <br />Spillers being noted absent. <br />CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING ON BROADWAY LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS. The public hearing was declared open. It <br />was requested that the hearing be continued another week. Councilman Weymouth moved to continue the <br />public hearing for one week, November 16th (MINUTE ORDER #59-188), seconded by Councilman Herkner and <br />carried. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of ORDINANCE N0. 951 ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THAT CERTAIN CODE ENTITLED <br />"UNIFORM GAS CODE OF SAN MATEO C OUNTY It, TOGETHER WITH ALL AMENDMENTS THERETO AND AS THE SAME EXISTED <br />AND WAS EFFECTIVE JULY 103, 1959, PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MINIMUM STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS <br />TO INSURE SAFE INSTALLATION OF ALL GAS BURNING APPLIANCES, WATER HEATERS, GAS VENTS, AND GAS PIPING <br />HEREAFTER INSTALLED IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 346 OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously° on roll call, Councilman Granger voting <br />yes but he was objecting to unvented gas ranges, and Councilman Spillers being noted absent. The affi- <br />davit of publication was ordered filed. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2906 BEING THE RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO MODIFY PRO- <br />CEEDINGS, JEFFERSON AVENUE WIDENING IMPROVEMENTS (public hearing November 23rd), seconded by Councilman <br />Fields and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />DR. ALVIN MEYER LETTER REGARDING FLUORIDATION matter being placed on April ballot. Councilman Granger moved <br />that it not be carried on the April ballot. Councilman Fields stated that he was not present at the <br />time of the public hearing so he felt that he could not vote on the matter. The motion lost for lack <br />of a second. <br />Councilman Granger moved to table the matter. The motion lost for lack of a second. <br />Councilman Fields moved to hold a public hearing and call in doctors to ekplai.n the pros and cons of <br />fluoridation. This motion lost for lack of a second because the Council said they already had such a <br />public hearing. <br />End result, no Council actioaiwas taken. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, BACKHOE -LOADER FOR WATER DEPARTMENT. The following bids^were received: <br />Contractor's Machinery Company $7,790.64 <br />Owen Equipment Company 7,340,76 <br />Bayshore Tractor & Equipment Co. 7,028.01 <br />It was recommended that the bid of Contractor's Machinery Company, in the amount of $7,790.64, be <br />accepted as this was the only unit which met all the specifications. Councilman Herkner moved to hold <br />the matter over for one week and asked that the Council be allowed to check the specifications. Lisle <br />Winter explained his reasons for his recommendation. The City Attorney recommended that the bids be <br />awarded. The motion lost for lack of a second. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2907 AWARDING BID FOR THE FURNISHING OF A NEW <br />BACKHOE -LOADER FOR WATER DEPARTMENT AND REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED,, seconded by Councilman Wey- <br />mouth and carried on roll call, Councilmen Fields, Granger, Rosselli, Weymouth and Mayor Royer voting <br />yes, Councilman Herkner 'voting no and Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />Consideration of adoption of a revised sewer ordinance. Councilman Herkner moved introduction of an ordin- <br />ance of the City of Reftood City providing for a connection of public sewers of all plumbing which <br />receives waste discharge from any building or structure except under certain designated conditions, <br />providing procedures for making such connections, and repealing Ordinance Nos. 202 and 215 (MINUTE <br />ORDER #59-189), seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />
