Me <br />Invocation was led by Reverend Wilbur Westerdahl, Peninsula Covenant Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger$, Sidney D. Herkner., John S. <br />Rosselli Robert Ve Spillers, Louis Weiss, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H. Jain, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Building <br />Inspector Se He Kreissp Assistant Building Inspector Be C. Gyselbrecht., Street Maintenance Superin- <br />tendent Doyle Chester, Assistant Planning Director Leonard Knittel.. Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy <br />and Deputy Clerk Vivian Holmquist. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ADOPTION CF AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE TEXT OF THAT CERTAIN PUBLICATION <br />CF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO ENTITLED "ELECTRICAL CCDE OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO". The affidavit of <br />publication was ordered filed* There were no written protests. Representatives of the Electrical <br />Union were intruduced and asked that the ordinance be adopted. Councilman Rosselli moved that, the <br />public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved to introduce an ordinance by reference that certain code entitled "The <br />Electrical Code of the County of San Mateo California".q together with all amendments thereto and as <br />the same existed and was effective April 11.. 1958 providing for the regulation of electrical fixtures <br />and appliances, providing for penalties for violation of said ordinance and portions thereof and re- <br />pealing Ordinance No. 825, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE APPEAL OF PATRICIA L. BAKER FROM THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS DENIAL CF A VARIANCE TO <br />PERMIT C(NSTRUCTION OF A SWIMMING POOL (3302 Dover Road). The affidavit of notice was ordered filed. <br />After the Clerk read the report of the Planning Commission, Councilman Weymouth moved to continue <br />this matter until March 2nd, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />Youth Day representatives were introduced by the Mayor and then appointed in the following order: <br />Ted Hitchcock <br />Jean Miller <br />Mardi Mohr <br />Gloria Ante <br />Paula Slager <br />Pete Savoia <br />Steve Chell <br />- Mayor William Royer <br />- Councilman Ray Weymouth <br />- Councilman Robert Spillers <br />- Councilman Sidney Herkner <br />- Councilman Floyd. Granger <br />- Councilman Louis Weiss <br />- Councilman John Rosselli <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 262. DECLARING AND PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 25, 1959 <br />"YOUTH DAY" IN THE CITY OF REDWOCD CITY, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried unanimously on <br />roll call. <br />REPORT ON B ID,OPENINGt CITY HALL REMODELING OF 2ND FLOOR. The following bids were received: <br />Berger-Coastwide Construction Co... Harms Corporation., Redwood City 14.4700 <br />The City Manager recommended the low bid of Berger-Coastwide Construction Co. Councilman Weymouth <br />moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 2625 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR REMODELING OF CITY HALL., REDWOOD CITY, CAL- <br />IFORNIA; REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED; AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT THEREFOR., seconded <br />by Councilman Spillers and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF TIPS MARINE HARBOR FLOATS CONTRACT (Associated Dredging Compa*)e Councilman <br />Spillers moved that the ten day extension be granted on the recommendation of the City Manager and <br />the City Engineer., seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />
