Councilman Rosselli moved to set the <br />matter for public hearing on May 18th (MINUTE ORDER #59-34), seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PETITION OF RENATO & BEATRICE BIANCHI AND G. & RENATO GUIDA to amend Section 4*2 of Ordin- <br />ance No. 600 to rezone from R-1 District to R-3 District, the Southeasterly 161.31 feet (mol) front and <br />rear portion of Lot 19, "Valota Park" fronting on the Southwesterly line of Valota Road and having a depth <br />of 675 feet (mol), said parcel containing 2.50 acres (mol) located at 1792 Valota Road. The affidavits of <br />notice were ordered filed. The Planning Commission unanimously denied this rezoning because the entire <br />area is developed as single family. The Clerk was in receipt of a petition with 79 signatures protesting <br />the rezoning. The peitioners stated.that-the petition spoke for itself. There was no one present to re- <br />present Bianchi and Guida. Councilman Rosselli moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Council- <br />man Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved to deny the Application and terminate the proceedings (MINUTE ORDER #59-35), sec- <br />onded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Granger requests information regarding the disposition of the sign ordinance. The proposed sign ord- <br />inance has been reviewed by the staff and is scheduled for review by the Planning Commission at the special <br />meeting on May 5, 1.959 since the Commission is involved in the administration of the proposed ordinance and <br />because of its relationship to the zoning ordinance. Councilman Granger moved that the Council be furnished <br />a copy of the Planning Commission's report of their special meeting (MINUTE ORDER #59-36), seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Spillers and carried. <br />20TH CENTURY HOMES REQUESTS WAIVER CF 50' REAR SET BACK BUILDING RESTRICTIONS ON SEVERAL LOTSIN THE PROPOSED <br />WAYNE COURT TRACT. The Building and Planning Departments had no objections to the releasing of the restrict- <br />ions. Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2701 WAIVING RESTRICTIONS ON CONSTRUCTION CF' <br />PORTIONS CF LOTS 6, 7 AND 8, BLOCK 7, TRACT NO. 509, FRIENDLY ACRES SUBDIVISION NO. 2, seconded by Councilman <br />Herkner and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Request to the City of Redwood City to issue a Quit Claim Deed for the 27 feet to the rear of 1538 Hudson Street <br />belonging to Julie M. Durell for the future construction of Norman Street from Palm Avenue to Woodside Road. <br />The Mayor read the letter from the Planning Commission wherein they recommOnd approval of the request. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 2705 AUTHORIZING MAYOR, AND CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br />RECONVEYANCE OF CITY'S INTEREST IN CERTAIN DESCRIBED REAL PROPERTY WITHOUT WARRANTY, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried unanimously on roll call. It was asked that the records show that the property had been <br />given to the City. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2706 APPROVING MCIFICATIONS FOR A NEW AUTOMOBILE AND AUTHOR- <br />IZING CALLING OF BIDS THEREFOR (Police Department), seconded by Councilman Fields and carried unanimously on <br />roll call. <br />Councilman Herkaer moved adaption of RESOLUTION N0. 2707 TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $200 FROM YACHT HARBOR SALARY <br />ACCOUNT TO YACHT HARBOR SUPPLIES AND SERVICES ACCOUNT, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously <br />on roll call. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2708 APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $950 FROM UNBUDGETED UNAPPROP- <br />RIATED BALANCE OF GENERAL FUND TO FIRE DEPARTMENT MOTCH VEHICLE ACCOUNT, seconded by Councilman Fields and <br />carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Elbert M. Gage requests permit to install a public laundry or wash -house of the specific type commonly known as a <br />coin operated self-service laundrette to be located at 2606 Broadway, and also appealing the ruling of the <br />Planning Commission for permission to install a Coca Cola vending machine.
